X-men: Hold fast

Logan jumped from his seat, his seat belt being torn away in the process. He knelt before Jasmine, his eyes focussing on her eyelids. "Jasmine..." he rasped, merely touching her hand. "Jasmine, I want you to open your eyes please. I want you to open your eyes and focus on me..." He took his finger and placed it under her chin, tilting her head up. "Are you awake, kid? Can you hear me?"



Wolfe opened her eyes, the yellow glow of her irises reflecting off the metal that surrounded her. She glanced at Nora and Eva, and growled slightly, feeling sather uncomfortable; she didn't like being buckled down, held down or anything like that. She felt like she wasn't in control anymore.

 

Eva grabbed her Ipod, then settled down, putting one earphone in her ear, the other she left hanging out so she could hear.

 

Wolfe looked at Eva, her eyes still sharp. What the hell do these goons want? she thought to herself, growling as she pushed forward on the small metal bar the decended over her body. She glared at Eva again, her voice echoing the frustration that buzzed in her mind. "Why am I being held down by bars!?" She demanded, pushing forward.

 

Eva glanced at the other girl. She couldn't remember her name, it had been a brief introduction. "Its for your safety." she said coolly.

 

"Safety? Are you kidding!?" Wolfe's eyes narrowed, looking at the other girl as if she had three heads or something. "I don't see you being hel down by titanium, hun." she pushed again, her hands bending the metal like putty in her hands, but something stop it from breaking. "I'm older than you too, I'm like...wait....how old am I!?" She leant back, taking deep breaths. "See what I mean? that's how mental I have become."

 

"And that is why you are strapped down." Despite her anxiety to sit alone, Eva sat next to the girl, watching her. "I can't help you with metal, I'm afraid."

 

Wolfe sat back, looking at the girl. "Then what can you help me with? hmmm?" She asked in a snappish manner. "I'm a 19 year old girl, totally confused, totally annoyed and I really, really want to go home."

 

Eva looked down. This sounded a lot like her...She used the glass she had been drinking out of, and called it to her, then clenched her hand, causing the glass to snap into little shards. "That's what I can help you with."

 

Wolfe winced away from the glass pieces. Her eyes seemed to glow a little more than usual, but calmed down a great deal more after a few focussed breaths. "I don't like glass.."

 

Eva called the glass to her, the pieces slowly settling themselves on her lap. "Why?"

 

"It's... dangerous..." Wolfe mumbled again, shuffling along her seat away fromt he other girl.
She looked at her palms, then hit them into the iron bar infront of her. They made a large dent, but nothing big. "This is the whole reason I'm here, isn't it?"

 

Eva shrugged. "I don't know exactly why, but probably." she sighed, holding up a piece of glass to catch the light. "Isn't everything dangerous?" she murmured.

 

"Everything is dangerous...yes..." Wolfe sighed, shaking her head slightly. "I just react badly to dangerous things." Her eyes were now examining the two glass shards.

 

Eva sighed, setting the shard down, and looking at them. "Dangerous things can be all the more pretty though." she said, looking out the window.

 

"On the outside." Wolfe looked to the floor, her answer cold. "But if you look close enough, you see things as they really are."

 

"Which can make them beautiful." Eva let the glass rise again, making it at her eye level.

 

Jasmine recognized the voice calling to her; it sounded as if it belonged to the man that had taken her from that hell-hole of a home. Slowly, she opened her eyes, and was relieved to find that it was the same man. Still frightened, she glanced around and saw others on board that she didn't know. The jet rocked but was once against steadied by Storm.

 

Eva sighed, then winced as the plane jerked, the glass scraping her cheek. "Damn.." she formed the shards into a glass again.

 

Wolfe looked at the girl, her eyes scanning her to see if she had any form of weapon. She did that by instinct; she was brought up that way and decided that people who carried weapons aren't people she should tollerate.

Logan tapped his finger under Jasmine's chin again. "I want you to look at me, okay?" He asked, attempting to make eyes contact. "I want you to focus only on me, kid, and I want you to ignore your surroundings." His voice became a whisper as he got eye contact, attempting to hold her there. "Relax for me. I want you to relax."

 

Jasmine looked back at Logan, trying to ignore the stare of one of the other girls on the jet. After a moment, her heart rate started to slow along with her breathing. The jet's dashboard blanked and the emergency alarm shut off. Jasmine's grip on the blanket over herself loosened. She let her feet slide off the chair and back to the floor, the whole time keeping her eyes locked with Logan's.
