You cant hide forever

"Mainly? just us lot....they've got my file...and it lists every closely bloody realted person I have...I think people like saying Dad's cousin's,and their parents would be ok...they dont havea list of them."

 

"So immediate family only?" Casey asked. "And is that including grandparents or not?"

 

"I'd say grandparents...cousin's...uncles...aunts...I dont want to take chances..."

 

"So that's me, Lyra, Maddie and her family, Immy and obviously your family." He listed off, wandering into the room as he counted off the people on his fingers.

 

"and Uncle Cory and his family..yeah."

 

"All right." Casey nodded. "I better get rounding them up." He said, heading off to find the phone.

 

He nodde,sitting back down again,running a hand through his hair

"This... Is going to be strange." Lake said, leaning against the doorframe.

 

"It'll work if someonedoesnt pick a fight with his cousin's everyday."Mickey said looking pointedly at River

"They start it.."he muttered

 

"If he starts I'll smack him over the nose with a rolled up newspaper." Hermia chimed in, giggling slightly. The atmosphere had become rather dark, so she felt she should at least make an attempt to cheer everyone up.

"Thanks for coming all the way out here Alex just to give us the keys....though I havent seen you in awhile...or anyone really."Lyra said looking up at her cousin

"No problem,what're cousin's for? just as well your mum didnt come...she wanted to be in the know...asked me what was going on....and To be honest....so do I...."Alex said

"No...you dont."


River was leanning against the unlocked door,eyes shut as if the sun were in them,he'd been quiet for the past few days,he was jumpy and even the slightest little thing that angered him set him off like a raging bull.

 

"Yeah, it would probably cause you guys more problems then it would solve." Casey sighed as he watched his wife and her cousin, or his brother-in-law, talk.

"River...?" Hermia asked cautiously, unwilling to set him off again. "You okay...?" His manner recently had scared her, an awful lot. It wasn't like he was himself anymore.

 

"Its no another Vampire thing is it?"

"No."


"Wha-? uh yeah Im fine."he smiled,but the smile didnt reach his eyes like it normally did and it looked a little strained

 

"We can safely say this has pretty much nothing to do with vampires." Casey said, nodding in agreement with his wife.

"Yeah... sure..." Hermia sighed.

 

"Ok then....there's not alot else you can hide from..."he muttered

"What's wrong this time River?"the voice of an annoyed Cadey asked,she stood with her hands on her hips"You dont look very happy ...more tired and ....kinda sickly weak looking....bad hangover?"


"No."he snapped "Im just not sleeping well."it was true...he was up every hour checking to see if everything and everyone was ok...though he'd been told repeatedly not to worry..

 

"We're not hiding, we're just strategically placing ourselves." Casey said indignantly, he didn't like to be accused of running away from situations. What little pride he had he liked to keep intact.

Hermia rolled her eyes, the drama going on in this household was starting to become more then she could bear. It was getting to the point where she just wanted to turn into a wolf and go curl up in the garden somewhere and be lost in the jungle of grass for days.

 

"Jam some sleeping pills down his throat to night Hermia...."Cadey said "His crabbiness was always annoying."


"I am not Crabby!"

"River! Volume!"Lyra called over rolling her eyes

"what's with him?"

"He's just tired....he hasnt been well."

 

After a moment Hermia figured that her plan was probably a hell of a lot more desirable then hanging around a battleground for the next god knows how long. So with a sigh she sloped off down the steps into the back garden and dropped off the dress she was wearing just as she turned into her chocolate wolf form and disappeared into the long grass.

"Do you lot mind not bickering for the entire time we're here?" Casey said, folding his arms irritably. The constant arguing going on between the younger members of the family was seriously starting to get on his nerves.
