Your most hated character?

No way! I could never hate Sora, he is brave in the game.

 

So...an organization hell-bent on killing someone and his friends isn't a good reason for becoming wary of those he doesn't know?

Well I'll be damned, what would the threat of death induce in behavior in a young teen?

 

I just think that randomly slashing someone in the head after you first meet them is not the nicest thing to do.

Also, I dislike right before Xemnas how he gives a speech about hearts. The whole org plotline after the Castle seemed to be "Die, you mess up our worlds".

Sora is tricked too easily in kh2. I do not see why intelligence cannot be mixed with cheerfulness. I want a hero that can be happy and smart, like in kh1.

 

I don't get why Sora gets this...but people somehow think Roxas was any better. Sora said some words to get stuff rolling with Demyx, but other than that, people were plaguing him. Roxas was a lot more violent and mouthy than Sora was. Just because it wasn't against the Organization, people seem to ignore it. His attitude was a lot more aggressive. This isn't to say I didn't like Roxas too, but Sora just seemed a lot more pleasant and less emo than Roxas.

Also, Sora does have emotional reactions to things and gets sad and all. He just tries to not -stay- down and his friends do their jobs to help keep his spirits high too.

I find it kind of pointless to hate the main character. Being indifferent about him is one thing, but to hate him and still play the game?

Personally, I like Sora. He's not the deepest character and may be dense from time to time, but he's still a great character.

 

I agree with him. If you hate the main character, then your loss. I mean, who would hate him? I don't.

Here is the key difference between Roxas and Sora...

Sora is suposed to be the hero. But having rage fits, and attacking people for no direct reason, makes him look more like a bully. Especially since he has the most powerful weapon in existence...

As someone fighting for justice, yet he apparntly denies people thier right to thier own hearts, makes him look more like a hypocrite.


Also, Roxas is more of a anti-hero. He doesn't seem to give a damn about justice, he just wants to live his own life, and if you get in his way, your going to get jumped. No hypocracy.

Well, Sora was apparently more than capable of taking on Organization XIII. As this is what happens in the game.

Death? Organization repeatedly said they did not want the Keyblademaster to be harmed. I think they did have a vested interest in keeping him alive, if they wanted him dead, they would have been more direct. Like, try to use numbers against him. But they did not. So... where is the threat of death?

I hated Cloud in FFVII, I hated Musashi in Brave Fence, I disliked Pheonix Wright in the Ace Attorney Series, Megaman is the reason I stoped playing the Megaman series. So am I totally lost in every game I play? No...

The hero is not really supposed to be a likable character. He is supposed to be a bland character. Look at Link, Mario, Chrono, Ash, Butz, Solid Snake, the monkey dude from FF9, and the like.

They are horribly bland, and underdeveloped, and thier love interest is usually the same. Sora & Kairi fit this catagory in KH1. Its game cliche.


In KH CoM they gave him a temper to flesh him out, and in KH2 they did even more so.

But doing so breaks the bland cookie cutter image of the classic video game hero.


In case you didn't know... there is a reason the characters are made like that... let me know if anyone cares.

 

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaand this is why no one should have opened up a thread on if people hate Sora or not. ICSP is his biggest hater probably of anyone because of his love of the Org.

I like Sora though and saw that he did what he had to do. However, I don't think any power is going to make either one of us cave in on that. lol

 

Organization XIII is actually recycled deep characters. Basically, Organization XIII is like the Square version of the Evil Alliance of Disney from KH1. Only names have been changed to protect the users identity.

And because of this, the characters are a lot deeper.

Back To topic:
I don't hate Sora specifically because of his systematic heartless ahnialation of Org XIII, but more because he is an intentionally poorly written character... the fact that he killed Org XIII in cold blood didn't help much either...

 

Yeah... and that lead him to darkness.

I like Sora. Besides his perkyness...eheh, but let's just look at his good side. There is up and down in this world and so does in characters. So imagine if Roxas was to be too cheerfull like him, I don't think people would live playing KH2 and liking jumpy Roxas. They'd probably dump it. Two candybars at the same time. You'll go hyperactive and get tooth decay. =P

Roxas: "Hey, I'm no perky blonde!"

ME:"Yes you are!"

Roxas:"Shut up! You talk too much!"

ME:"Die emo. Die."

 

How do people hate him? He's cute! The only thing I don't like about him is he's too kiddish for his own age. :P

And yeah, that would be my only 'issue' with Sora is he's a bit too kiddish for his age. I almost think they should have made Sora, Riku and Kairi another year or two younger for KH at first. Then his attitude would have been fine. Maybe we'll see him mature more in KH3. We can hope.

I could so hear that convo in my head for some reason. The good point about it is at least Riku knows his own weakness and said he wished he could follow his heart a bit more. I just though could hear him respond with shut up to that though. lol

 

Aha, I've found out why he tried to kill Marluxia, because he didn't lose memory until he got far into Castle Oblivion, thus he remembered that Xemnas attacked him in Kh1 final mix, and he could have thought that Marluxia was Xemnas, and Xemnas was trying to kill him again. I hope thats right.

 

Sora isn't that thoughtful... also, Xemnas admited it was a "Test" and he "Special in the same way" as Sora.

I wouldn't take that as a death threat.

 

You do bring up an interesting thought that since Sora did fight Xemnas who was cloaked for a 'test' that it would make Sora even more wary than just being stuck in a trap and all. Marluxia, after all, did approach him also with a hood up and acted with some of the same bravado. However, I don't think he wanted to 'kill' Marluxia until after he realized how bad Marluxia really was and that he was using Namine as a hostage and wanted to use Sora as a puppet.

 

GAAAAAAH! JEEEEZ! Can't we just drop this whole thing? Sorreh fer bein' intrusive, but this is gettin' a little ridiculous.

 

I think Riku and a few organization members are the only characters I like in the Kingdom Hearts series. :\

 

I don't really like Sora. I feel he's very contrieved and corny.

I love Sora! lol, I mean without Sora, there wouldn't be a Roxas... right? And Sora always seems to look on the bright side of things. Even though he's a little goofy sometimes, he's still a cool guy. And... that's my opinion! lol.
