The holiday has been raped and commercialized by companies to maximize profits and is open to subjective interpretation. And apparently the character of Jesus was actually born in April.

I have yet to meet a person that doesn't understand what Christmas to Christians represents around. Every year I watch on the news how hard it is on Christians to do all the good deeds they do and the tons of specials on Christmas that aren't the commercialized things also run. There are a ton of Christian benefit programs out too at that time. Let's not forget about the hours of religious music that streams radios. If these 4 people did not know what it really referred to for Christians, they are either very young or they simply do not care.

However, not all people are Christian and so we do celebrate it for other reasons such as a time to share, give to those we love and to have a day of peace, great food and family or friendship bonding. I don't mind that Christmas is changing to meet that since Christmas itself was taken from other holidays in the first place, mainly Yule, which is pagan and is celebrated for the winter solstice. Many cultures celebrate that time of year, and did so prior to Christianity, and it seems a natural thing to me that since we get no time off for any other cultural holidays than Christian ones that we fill in the gap by using that time off. Christmas for many people has meant a chance to come together with those you love and give, and just be happy.

It really rubs me the wrong way when someone tries to say 'It's a Christmas tree!" because I call it a holiday tree when in fact it's a Yule Tree, or any other references that some angry people do to contest the rights of all to enjoy the spiritual motion of the holiday even if we are not Christian. In the end can't we all be grateful that it is, whether or not for the traditional reason that one group wants, celebrated and held in our hearts? I think that's far more important. There can be 'hate' found on either side of the line when it comes to this holiday or any other holiday really but in the end, people just need to learn some respect and to let others alone.

If Jesus was born in April that means he died the and ressurected the same month, anyway Christmas true meaning is giving the gift and not receving, you will notice when you give a gift it will make you smile and proud to know you helped someone, but I don't know what Thanksgiving is.

Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is important to us (yes, I am Catholic), and as Kingdom-Fan98 said, it's about giving the gift.
