If you refer to me as your possession, I'd be offended and find it condesending and patronizing, but if you do the opposite, I'll feel responsible for you, and I'm not your freaking mother.

No, I meant when you said that refer to yourself as the woman's possession, as women being in control. You generally take care of what is yours, and that leads to maternal instincts to rise, and that leads to unfortunate Oedipal and Freudian implications. ^This x100 Don't treat women as if they were a puzzling species of their own.
