Osidia is a world out of legend. Long proclaimed as the world of glory, it has spawned heroes for ages, heroes that have done mighty things in the name of light and justice. Beyond that, its cerulean skies and peaceful lands were home to many creatures. Osidia was nature incarnate.

Then darkness entered the worlds, and everything changed. Osidia became lost to the ensuing chaos, and through the ages, became lost from memory as well.

However, not all memory of it was lost. Deep within the massive world of Libary, a planet dominated by scholars and researchers devoted to understanding and, in some cases, living every aspect of knowledge, Osidia’s secrets remain hidden...

Until one fateful day, a young scholar and the newest member of the Ruling Council, known as the Prophets of Truth, uncovered its mysteries. Now, Libary will stop at nothing to uncover its secrets.

On the remote world of Genesis, word reaches the ears of the populace that a reward has been offered for anyone who can find the world of legend. You are one of these courageous seekers of Osidia. You will travel from world to world, seeking the lost truths of this forgotten world, and in the course of events, change destiny itself...

This is the Quest for the Obsidian Skies.

Welcome to Obsidian Sky! Before we start, be sure to read everything below, or you’ll probably get lost. Don’t be dismayed by this large post however; this RP isn’t designed to be for die-hard Rpers, though it can accommodate them. J

This RP is a little different from other RPs. Think of Obsidian Sky as a forum-based RPG computer game, and you’ll probably understand the RP a lot better.

    First off are the rules:
    1. Entering this RP means that you’ll follow the RP. No running off to do whatever you feel like. If you feel like you can contribute, PM me about it, and I’ll definitely consider putting it in, and will let you know if I think it is a viable option (viable meaning doable.)
    2. Be courteous. I don’t have much tolerance for people who can’t carry on a mature conversation with someone.
    3. I don’t mind swearing, so long as it’s not excessive. If I think you’re using too rough of language, I’ll probably PM you and ask you to tone it down a bit.
    4. If we’ve already started, but you’d like to join, please PM me about it. Thanks a lot.

Now, I’ll explain how to run this RP.

This RP is mission-based, meaning that you will have to fulfill certain goals to move on in the storyline. There are also tons of side missions you can complete to gain cool items, lots of cash, and EXP (which I’ll explain later.)

Often, but not always, you will have to fight. Fighting in this RP is different from others in the fact that you’ll have statistics that you’ll need to keep track of.

#1: HP – HP is probably the most important of the stats, as it is what will allow you to participate in the RP. You lose HP through taking damage from attacks, and gain through healing by either magic, items, or just resting overnight. Starting a new mission does not necessarily mean you will have full HP, but I will notify you if this does happen. If you run out of HP, you will be KO, or knocked out. This means you won’t be able to participate in any battles for the rest of the mission, and you will be “dead weight” otherwise. However, you can be “revived” through the use of magic, items, or resting overnight, so it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. If everyone in the party reaches 0 HP, unlike other RPG games, you won’t get a game over. You’ll be “saved” by reinforcements or some other guy, and your party will be revived to 1 HP.

#2: MP – MP is what enables you to use magic. If you run out of MP, you can’t use magic. Magic usually doesn’t cost very much MP, and using magic is more often than not stronger than simply attacking.

#3: Attack – Attack is the amount of power you have behind your physical attacks. I’ll explain how to figure damage from this statistic later in the battle section.

#4: Defense – Defense is how well you are able to withstand blows from your opponent. Your opponent’s damage will be decreased the greater your defense is. Explained later.

#5: Magic – Magic is how much strength you have behind your magical attacks.

#6: Magic Defense – Magic Defense is how well you can withstand magical attacks.

Now to use these stats in battle:

Rules for Battle: #1. Take your turn. Characters will go in the order they joined the RP, which means I’ll always go first. Enemies will normally go after every Rper has done his/her turn.
#2. If you are KO, don’t post again until the battle is over please.
#3. You can use one item per turn, and still be able to use magic or attack physically.

    How to figure Damage:

((Attack + Defense) – (Defense of opponent – Attack of opponent) x2) = Damage

    OR

((Magic + Magic Defense) – (Magic Defense of opponent – Magic of opponent) x2) = Damage

As you can see, it’s not that tough, though it can be hard to remember.

Leveling Up: After every battle, you will gain EXP. EXP allows you to gain more power. You’ll level up normally throughout the RP, so don’t worry too much about it. You’ll reach a maximum level of 50.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, to finish things off, I’d like everyone to please post at the bottom of their posts this information:
HP, MP, Level and Stats, and current EXP. This is simply for reminder’s sakes, so you don’t forget. If you can remember without posting at the bottom of your screen, that’s fine, but if you forget, I won’t be keeping too close of track. So, I guess this is optional.

Phew, that was a long post. The rest of it will simply be the beginning of the RP, which immediately following you can sign up. Thanks a lot for reading this all the way through!

The sun slowly sprinkled down the light rain before its existence as conglomerations of water-induced rainbows was ended with the light tapping of its host against Darryl von Karrte-Tera Roth’s bedroom window. However, the rays of warmth continued on, traveling along the dust motes to finally rest on Tera Roth’s quivering eyelids.

Conveniently, Tera Roth woke up sneezing.

“Augh, gezundheit,” Tera Roth muttered nasally. Grabbing a tissue from the beautifully handcrafted table, Tera Roth preceded to waste 15 seconds of otherwise useful air time to blow his congested nose clear of all the guts it had accumulated during the night.

Staring at the horrendous mess, pooled in somewhat large goopy chunks, Tera Roth exclaimed, “Green again! More dirt, less play. Maybe then my mornings will start being brown again.”

Clambering out of the grungy bed that looked like one of the native wildcats had been in it, Tera Roth went through his morning routine of showering for exactly 3 minutes longer than he should, scarfing his plain Crispy Rice with milk to make up for it, and brushing his teeth slowly while trying not to fall asleep.

Today he actually managed to get his uniform on before Tyre Rutherford knocked on the door.

“Come in, blueberry,” Tera Roth said, buckling on the simple sword to the back of his waist.

Tyre slowly opened the thick oak door.

“Blueberry is not a good nickname,” Tyre said, hiding a smile at Tera Roth’s dopey expression. “Hey, you’re dressed today! Great, we can get going.”

Tera Roth straightened, popping every socket in his back as he stretched. 6’0”, average build, light brown hair, hazel-gold eyes, strong, good at sports. Adept at most forms of hand-to-hand combat, especially skilled in swordplay. Rank: Captain. Distinguishing features: He looks like an idiot when he’s not being serious, which is most of the time.

“Hey, blueberry, what’s the assignment?” Tera Roth asked, while vainly attempting to crack his knuckles.

Tyre frowned. “Tyre, pronounced Tear, not blueberry.”

Tyre Rutherford – 5’9”, slim build, smart, but horrible at everything to do with combat. Rank: Lieutenant. Distinguishing features: Extremely blue eyes, black hair, and likes wearing blue. Hence the nickname.

“Whatever,” Tera Roth grumbled, before both his index fingers snapped loudly. “Yowch!”

Tyre shook his head. “A group of C-Class Heartless are on the move outside the city. We’ve already sent a team in to evacuate the citizens in that area, but they might have missed some. We’re being sent in to mop up the Heartless, and protect any citizens in the area. The city’s Anchor, and we’re being dropped off about a mile out, towards the incoming Heartless advance. We’re also being assigned with Highwind.”

“Anchor…That’s got lots of dirt there, right?” Tera Roth mumbled around his fingers.

Tyre’s brow furrowed. “Well, yeah, it’s desert, but why…?”

“Heartless! Dirt! My lucky day!” Tera Roth bellowed. “Let’s get gone!”

Barreling past a thoroughly confused Tyre, Tera Roth twisted and ran down the hallway laughing maniacally.

“But, why dirt?” Tyre asked himself slowly, before following.

    ***
The dual-bladed TT (troop-transport) helicopter roared over the small gulley, heading for the drop point, the copilot and pilot both straining to see the first signs of the Heartless.

Back in the padded seats, Tyre sat staring at Tera Roth, still uncertain why exactly he wanted dirt, while Tera Roth simply bounced up and down ecstatically while making engine “Vroom” noises.

Highwind rubbed his temples, and wondered for about the 1600th time why Tera Roth was his best friend.

Highwind – 6’6”, slim build, gray eyes, pale skin. Exceptionally skilled in pretty much everything, but a sheer genius when it comes to battle. Rank: Captain, but probably not for long; probably be promoted soon to General because a previous one just died in combat. Distinguishing features: Long black hair, long sword, eyes turn red when fights all-out.

Tera Roth’s glazed eyes suddenly snapped back to reality, and he stepped to the open bay door, staring down at the ground.

Highwind continued rubbing his temples. “What is it now, Tera, a rabbit?”

“Funny,” Tera Roth said. “No, it’s just…a really large black shadow-thing chasing a screaming woman…”

“Huh?” Highwind said, staring at Tera Roth.

“Heartless,” Tera Roth translated, before twisting around and jumping out, saluting as he did so and flipping backwards down towards the ground.

Highwind was at the bay door in an instant.

    “Moron,” he muttered.

“Uh, sir?” the pilot asked unsteadily.

“Continue to the drop-off point, he’ll be fine,” Highwind said, sitting back down, thinking at the same time, Don’t kill yourself, Tera.

    “But…why dirt?” Tyre asked.

    ***
Heartless. Denizens of darkness. They survive by preying upon the source of enegy for humans, otherwise known as their hearts. Once a person’s heart is gone…so are they. In fact, they turn into Heartless themselves…trying to find more hearts to survive.

Nobodies. Demons of the earth and sky, born from the joining of a soul and body when a human has lost their heart. They survive by sheer will power but have no emotion, no conscience, and are brutal in their attempts to gain a heart, any heart, for them to be whole again.

The Soul Knights. We are the elite. We fight the Heartless, and destroy them, releasing their stolen hearts to Kingdom Hearts, the mother of all worlds and the shield against chaos. We obliterate the Nobodies, crushing them into dust, returning them to the nothingness of twilight from whence they came. Our holy weapons, the Keyblades, and their forms, help us in our endeavors to crush the Heartless and Nobodies once and for all. We are led by the Tetras Five, the leaders of the Central Government.

It’s more than job. It’s our duty.

The woman screamed as the C-Class Heartless, a miniature version of a modern-day Godzilla, reared its head back to strike and eat her helpless heart. Her eyes squeezed shut as she waited for the final blow.

Instead, a bombardment of air and the unholy scream of a dying Heartless filled her senses, and she opened her eyes to see Tera Roth twist from his dive bomb slash into the Heartless’ skull to intercept the blow of the second of the trio of shadow beings.

    Tera Roth grinned.

“You wimps have no chance against me,” he stated, staring into the cold yellow eyes of his prey. His sword ground against the hand of the Heartless, then ripped through, traveling up the arm of the Heartless and ripping it off.

Roaring in pain, the Heartless reared back. Tera Roth charged straight in as the third and final Heartless joined its brother…

    BATTLE INSTIGATED!

    Tera Roth – Stats: Unknown

    HP: 100
    MP: 10

    C-Class Heartless – Stats: Unknown

    HP: 50 and 75
    MP: 10 each

Tera Roth swept his sword in a salute.

“I don’t have time to play with simple scouts, if you bozos are even that intelligent,” Tera Roth grinned.

Sweeping his sword forward, he ripped into the wounded Heartless’ skull.

    Damage: 50!

    The Heartless shattered.

Its brother slammed its arm forward.

    Damage: 10!

Tera Roth shook the blow off.

“That all you got? Bring it!” Tera Roth roared as he sliced his sword down, ripping the Heartless from shoulder to hip.

    Damage: 50!

The Heartless bellowed, twisting and smacking Tera Roth with its tail.

    Damage: 10!

Tera Roth rubbed his ribs where the Heartless had smashed him.

“I think you bruised a rib, moron!” he roared. “You’ll pay for that! HI-YA!”

Diving forward, Tera Roth drove his sword into the gaping mouth of the Heartless, obliterating it.

    END OF BATTLE!

    EXP Awarded: None

“Ha, piece of cake!” Tera Roth said, looking around for the woman. He found her huddled behind a rock. “You all right?”

“Y-Yes, but…I’m so sorry…I didn’t want to leave my home…I was just too scared…” the woman blubbered.

Tera Roth sighed. “I know how you feel, miss, but when Heartless are around, you don’t really have a choice in the matter. You were lucky that I saw you being chased, else you would have been piecemeal by the time we arrived.”

The woman nodded, sobbing. “I-I know…I-I’m s-sorry…” Her eyes suddenly widened and she screamed. “Look out!”

Tera Roth twisted as a white blur streaked at his head. Instinct saved him as his sword leaped up to block the incoming blow, managing to deflect it into the ground.

“Stay back!” he yelled. “I’ll take care of this!”

Sneering at him was a Nobody. Tera Roth yanked out his cell phone as he sprinted to the right, dodging two more blows from the Nobody.

“I’ve got a Nobody here!” Tera Roth yelled into the phone, leaping over the shapeshifting Nobody’s rock-shattering kick. “Requesting immediate assistance!”

    Silence met him.

“Don’t do this to me!” Tera Roth roared, snapping his cell phone shut. “I’m not ready for this!”

A slice appeared out of nowhere, and Tera Roth barely blocked it with his sword as it drove him back into a rock wall, shattering it behind him.

The Nobody paused, its eyes glinting in the sunlight, waiting for the dust to clear. Instead, it got the business end of the sword slashing down, ripping through its shoulder and nearly cutting its arm off.

“Huh, looks like I missed,” Tera Roth said. “Instigate battle mode.”

    BATTLE INSTIGATED!

    Nobody strike!

Tera Roth caught the blow bare-handed. “You made me mad, punk.”

    0 Damage!

Crushing the spear formed from one of the Nobody’s hands, he leaped forward, his sword ripping into the Nobody’s chin and driving straight up its face.

    100 Damage!

    END OF BATTLE!

    EXP Awarded: 0.

Tera Roth stared at the disintegrating Nobody. “Where’d that power come from?” he muttered to himself. “Now I don’t feel good…”

A crunch of rock behind him made him turn his golden eyes back. He froze, and sweat slowly streaked down his cheek.

Two sneering Nobodies stared back at him.

“Wh-What is this?” Tera Roth stammered. “B-Class?”

One of the Nobodies raised a long arm, shifting it into a goliath-sized broadsword.

I can’t even move, Tera Roth thought to himself as he watched, as if in slow motion, the sword slicing downwards. They’ve got me in some sort of paralysis just from their energy output. I don’t have enough even to break free.

The sword filled his eyes. I’m dead.

The next instant, a red blur and a steel swing interrupted his thoughts. Tera Roth, suddenly free, twisted and stared at the giant of a man before him.

Crimson armor, flaming hair, cerulean eyes, disgusted look…

“Tera Roth,” the man said, holding his giant sword which had intercepted the blow in one hand. “If you’re not strong enough, get out of here.”

“Wh-who are you?” Tera Roth said.

“I’ll tell you when I kill these two,” the man said, turning back to the B-Class Nobodies. “Highwind, get him out of here.”

Highwind grabbed Tera Roth’s arm, and half-dragged a bewildered Roth off the field, motioning to the woman with the other hand. The woman sprinted after them, and Highwind grabbed one of her arms, helping her run over the rocky ground.

“What?” Tera Roth said. “Where’d you guys come from?”

“The drop point,” Highwind said. “Darius was already there.”

“Was that who that guy was?” Tera Roth asked, pointing back at the no longer visible form of the man who had saved his life.

“Yes,” Highwind said. “And he’d already destroyed all the Heartless. We heard your phone call and Darius ran over.”

“All of them by himself? They must have been F-Class…Sure he’ll be all right?” Tera Roth asked.

An explosion made Tera Roth trip, but the more able Highwind kept his balance as the woman clung to him.

“Don’t worry, miss, Darius won’t let anything past,” Highwind said. “And they were all C and D-Class, Tera.”

“Huh?” Tera Roth said, picking his face out of the dirt. “Really?”

“I never told you how I joined the Soul Knights, did I?” Highwind said, setting the woman down behind a rock. “This should be far enough.”

Tera Roth shook his head. “What does that have to do with anything?”

“Darius was the main reason,” Highwind said, pulling out a handkerchief and handing it to the woman, who whispered thank you.

    ***
I was a vagabond, a real rogue, beating up everyone and everything in the name of so-called justice for my family’s poor life and my even worse upbringing. My father was a drunk, my sister had been killed in a turf war, and my mother had left us long ago.

I was a teenager, mad…and strong. I pulled together a gang of my own, and trashed the joint so to speak.

Then one day, we got a visit from a Soul Knight named Patrick Stewart. Now, Patrick is no spring picnic and he took out everyone but me, of course.

I took him down, basically due to the fact that he’d used too much energy while fighting my thugs, but as I was about to administer the finishing blow, it was intercepted…a lot like yours was.

And by who? Darius, of course.

I was furious, but Darius coolly used a move called, “Burning Vengeance,” which is basically a backhand slash that rips a tremendous amount of energy into the opponent. In one move, I was on my back.

But Darius ignored me, and instead simply asked Patrick how he could have lost to someone so weak.

This of course just infuriated me. I got to my feet and attacked him, giving him everything I had. Darius blocked every single blow without giving an inch. I was getting tired, so I decided to use my finishing blow, the Biting Dragon Flash.

Darius caught it bare-handed and hit me with the flat of his blade, then knocked me out cold with his own Biting Dragon Flash.

I woke up in the hospital to Patrick’s smiling face, and he asked me to join the Soul Knights. I joined, at first because I wanted a rematch, but my real reason to want to save everyone kind of got absorbed into me, and now I look at Darius more as a role model than anything else.

    ***
“So he’s strong,” Tera Roth said, as if there were still some doubt left.

“You could say that,” Darius said, walking around the rock. “They’re dead.”

“What took you so long?” Highwind asked.

“I saw a flower and wanted to take a picture,” Darius said, shrugging. “By the way, what’s your name?” he asked, addressing the girl.

The girl blew her noise noisily and didn’t reply.

Tera Roth shook his head. “Maybe I’ll tell you who she is later…”

The girl looked rather shocked for a moment, then looked embarrassed and buried her face in the handkerchief, while Highwind chewed on some grass he’d just pulled out of the ground.

Darius shook her head. “Whatever, let’s just get back to base.”

    ***
“So, did you hear about that girl?” Tyre asked Tera Roth later as they headed for the debriefing center. “She turned out to be some secretary from Genesis that came all the way to the headquarters of the Soul Knight to see this guy she had a crush on!”

“Women,” Tera Roth said. “She could have written.”

    “Huh?” Tyre grunted, confused.

“Maybe I’ll tell you later,” Tera Roth said, entering the building. “So these the guys I’m working with on my next assignment?”

“Yeah, you’re heading for some small islands called the Destiny Islands,” Tyre said. “I’m off to my next assignment, so I’ll see you when you get back.”

“Later, blueberry,” Tera Roth said, walking up to the group.

“Well, heya y’all, I’m Tera Roth, and…Wait a sec, I know all of you,” Tera Roth said. “Two blasts from the past in one day!”

    Tera Roth smiled and remembered…

    ***
They had met about six or seven months ago on, coincidentally, their homeworld of Genesis. Ever since Tera Roth had learned of Osidia, he had been trying to get some money to get offworld, to start searching.

So, it was somewhat of a fateful day when he walked into the Job Application Center of Core, and met the group of men and women that stood before him in the present.

Tera Roth, who was no introvert, began introducing himself.

“Hullo, my name’s Darryl von Karrte-Tera Roth, pleased to meet you,” he nearly bellowed at everyone at the same time. “And you are?”

Alright, I promise this time, I won't inconveniently stop logging onto this forum. XD

Oh and Darknight? It looks like some of the information in the first post is repeated. :X

    Alexander (Alex) Meion

    Statistics: ATK: 15, DEF: 15, MGC: 5, MDEF: 5

    HP: 110 MP: 5

Weapon of Choice: Longbow, or any other kind of Ranged weapon. (He'll mainly stick to bows and the like, but if we're in the middle of a fight, and there's like a gun on the ground, he'd pick it up and use it.)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a somewhat warm August day. A slight breeze ruffled the leaves as Alex walked through the forest. In one hand, he held a loop of rope, in the other a bow. And strapped to his back? A quiver full of every kind of arrow you could imagine. He had some that exploded, he had some laced with lethal poison. He had some that lit on fire after being shot, and some that released a freezing charge.

Reaching his destination, Alex inspected a nearby tree. "You'll do." He decided, as he tied the rope to the shaft of one of his arrows. Aiming upwards, he fired the arrow over one of the large branches. He smiled, satisfied as it soared perfectly over, sticking in the nearby ground.

Tying several knots into the rope, he climbed to the top of the tree. He perched there for several minutes, looking much like a falcon waiting for it's prey. He'd been assigned to capture seven white-tailed deer for his employer. He had already bagged six, and was closing in on the last one.

Out of the woods sprinted the exact deer he was looking for. A tall, strong deer with a unique pattern of white spots on it's tail. Taking extremely careful aim, Alex knocked an arrow. This particular arrow was designed to move quickly through the air, and was laced with poison to kill the target quickly. Perfect for assassinations and hunting.

Releasing the arrow with a twang, a smile found it's way to Alex's face, as the proud creature fell.

Hopping to the ground, Alex jogged over to collect his kill. Before he could begin the trip back to the village he happened to be staying in, strange black creatures materialized and fawned over his deer. "Hey! That's mi-"Alex began, as his jaw dropped in shock as the deer vanished, and a small heart floated away. Quickly drawing his bow, he pointed it point blank at the creatures. "What'd you do to my deer!"

The strange things just looked back at him with their soulless yellow eyes.

    BATTLE INSTIGATED!

    Alex - Stats: ATK 15, DEF 15, MGC 5, MDEF 5
    HP: 100 - MP: 5

3 Unknown Heartless - Stats: Unknown
    HP: 100, 50, 50

Back stepping twice, Alex quickly drew a regular arrow, and fired it at the first creature. He smiled confidently as it plunged into the creatures chest.

    Damage: 50!

    Unknown Heartless (1) Destroyed!

The remaining two hissed and leaped at Alex. He managed to sidestep the first attack, but was grazed on the arm by the other.

    Damage: 10!

Alex grit his teeth to ignore the pain, as he drew another arrow. This one was bulkier, designed to explode. He fired it directly at the two Heartless, and the explosion rippled outwards, obliterating them.

    Damage: 110!

    MP Lost: 5!

Unknown Heartless (2) and Unknown Heartless (3) destroyed!

    BATTLE ENDED!

    EXP Gained: 0

Pulling a handkerchief out of his pocket, he tied it tightly around his new wound. "That'll leave a scar.." He muttered, displeased with his own carelessness. Grabbing his bow, he walked back into the deep forest. He'd need a new deer now.

A few hours, and one deer later, Alex was dumping his prey onto his employers desk. Receiving his pay, he walked out happily. Another day's work done.

Pulling a small device out of his pocket, he flicked a switch on the side, and grumbled as the screen bloomed into life. This device was his planner. It managed all of the jobs that he had been offered, the amount of money he had stored in his bank account with the Central Government, and other such things. At the top of his "possible job" list, with 3 red priority flags, was a very special request. Sent directly from the Soul Knights, one of the military arms of the Central Government. Such assignments were usually very dangerous. Selecting it, he opened the letter, to see what they wanted him to do, and how much they were going to pay him. The mission wasn't listed itself, as the information was "classified" but apparently, he was going to learn when he got there.

Scrolling down more, his jaw dropped as he saw all the zeros tagged onto the reward. "Looks like I've got no choice." He muttered, as he secured his equipment.

    ***
Alex warily entered the Job Application Center of Core. He was nervous, like always. He'd never gotten along well in huge cities like Core.

He twitched as a Soul Knight half-said, half-shouted his name at him. Tera Roth apparently. Hopefully he wasn't this loud all the time.

"Alexander Meion." Alex said, introducing himself. "Most people call me Alex though."

    CHARACTER INTRODUCTION: Alexander (Alex) Meion
    Age: 15, Height: 5' 4"
Weapon of Choice: Bow, and arrows.

Yeah, I totally made those numbers up. .-.

Once we start, hopefully I'll be able to be more legit, what with being able to normally see a enemies stats. <:

OOC: That's okay, it's what I did too. Looks good, but continue on so you can meet up with Tera Roth in the JAC...Like we did last time. Um, I PMed you some name suggestions which you don't have to take, but remember that you'll be talking to your character in the UO, so it might get confusing otherwise. :)

I actually like your story post better than mine, FYI. Good work!

    OOC: Major edited. :X

I changed his name to Alex. That should clear up any name problems between me and my UO self. I also added a bit about me heading to JAC. :X

Niles Skinnar sighed as he leaned on the ships railing, the rain was hard on the water, everything in the distance was dark, the water, the sky, in fact the only color at all was the bright red at the far away Destiny City port. It was under attack, or rather it was the location of an attack.

Nile’s was born and raised on Destiny Islands, the Gold Coasts to be exact. He was the youngest of four brothers, Rentu, Alec, Devon, and last but not least, Niles. About ten years ago Rentu left his poor family to go to the world’s biggest city, Destiny City, he went to get work and hopefully bring some money back to his poor family.

Five years later, Alec left as well, for the same reasons. Three years later it was Devon and Niles’ turn, the two youngest siblings left the Gold Coasts for Destiny City. When they got there they where greeted by Alec, apparently Rentu had gone off world a few years ago, and was now a member of the secret service.

Alec quickly hooked Niles and Devon up with jobs as manual labor workers at the city port. It didn’t pay much, but it was enough for food and rent, and that was all the three brothers could really ask for.

Around two weeks ago the Enigmatic Knights had begun camping out around the city, blocking anyone from going in or out of the city limits. It was suspected that there might be a criminal in the city, or a dangerous crime boss, the city officials has evacuated along with all the upper class citizens. Most of the poorer citizens tried leaving by boat, if they had the money that was. Most of the illegal boats cost seven to eight hundred dollars, and even if you could afford that the ship would most likely get shot down by the Knights.

Alec, Devon, and Niles had enough money on them for two tickets; the tickets would go to the youngest, Devon and Niles. They booked the last boat leaving the city for the night, hoping that the Knights wouldn’t see the ship in the dark; another helping feature was that it was supposed to rain, the chances of the ship being caught were evened out by these facts slightly.

And so the night came, Alec walked through the port, Niles and Devon following.
“So are you positive about this, Al? I don’t want to end up dead at sea like most of the others who tried to escape this way…” Devon muttered, “Its either get out now or wait your death out in the city,” Alec said, “And if you get out now safely then you can get off world,” Alec explained, handing Devon and Niles two tickets.

“These are Gummi tickets for Ceegum…” Niles muttered, examining the tickets, “How did you pay for these, they must of cost a fortune,”

Alec shrugged, “I borrowed some money from some friends, I can pay them off as long as I don’t eat for a month,” Devon smiled, “Thanks Al, you gonna be alright here?” Alec nodded, “Yeah, I have my own way to get out of this city,” he said.

“Good,” Niles muttered as the three brothers walked threw the rain, “There’s the boat,” Devon pointed out as they walked along the dock, “So now we go our separate ways, huh?” Niles asked, looking at Alec who nodded.

“See you soon, Al,” Devon said, hugging Alec before rushing onto the boat. Niles looked at Devon before turning back to Alec, “Hey man, take care, alright?” he said, “I will,” Alec replied.

An explosion suddenly light up the darkness behind Alec, another one followed, “What’s going on? Is it the Knights?” Niles asked, trying to see where the explosions where coming from, “Niles, get on the ship… now,” Alec said, grabbing Niles’ hand and throwing him aboard the ships deck.

“Hey! You gonna be alright?” Niles yelled as the ship took off, “I’ll be fine!” Alec yelled back, as more explosions ripped through the city. “Ticket?” A crew mate asked, taping Niles on the shoulder, “Oh… right, here,” Niles replied hand the crew mate a ticket, “Alright… its legit, get below deck with the others,” the crew mate said, leading Niles below the ships deck.

Niles sat down with the rest of the ships passengers, “So… what’s going on up there?” One of the passengers asked, “I dunno,” Niles replied, “Explosions in the city, a battles going on up there or something, its insane…”

“I knew the Knights where bad news…” Devon muttered, shaking his head. Niles sighed, “Yeah… We should have just stayed in the Gold Coasts…” he muttered.

“You can come up know, we made it beyond city limits,” A crewmate told the passengers. “That was fast, it’s only been an hour or so, right?” Niles commented as he got up and walked up to the deck. It was still raining, and other then nearby water the sea was pitch black. The only thing Niles could really make out was Destiny City, which was completely covered in flames. “What did they do…” Niles thought aloud as the ships sailed on.

“Yo, Niles, wake up,” Devon said, kicking Niles in the arm. “Ow…” Niles muttered as he got up, “What is it? Why you wake me?” Devon smiled, “We made it to the gummi strip,” Devon said, “Come on, let’s go…”

The two brothers went above deck to find the ship docked at a small island, with various gummi ships lined up on the islands beach. “Very nice,” Niles said, before following his fellow passengers onto the beach. The passengers where divided into gummi ships, Devon and Niles were probably the only ones going to Ceegum. Devon flashed his ticket to the ships pilot and was let in, Niles did the same.

“Hold on little man, what’s that?” The pilot asked as Niles showed him his ticket, “Its my ticket… Its for Ceegum,” Niles said. “That’s a fake, now get off my ship,” The pilot said pushing Niles back, “Hey… is there a problem here?” Devon asked, walking up to the pilot, “This guys trying to get in with a fake ticket,” the pilot explained.

“We got our tickets from the same source, if his is fake then so is mine,” Devon said, “Yours checks out, his doesn’t. That’s all there is to it,” The pilot replied.

“Devon, forget it… go onto Ceegum without me,” Niles said, Devon sighed, “Niles… take my ticket,” Niles looked up, confused, “How will you get off world?”

“…I won’t,” Devon replied, “But you need the ticket more then me,”

    Niles smiled, “Thanks,”

    “Don’t mention it,” Devon said.

“Were taking off, one of you better get on the ship,” The pilot said, pointing at his watch. “Alrighty, I will get on the ship then,” Niles said, climbing onto the Gummi Ship and buckling up. The ships doors closed and it took off; Niles looked out the window watching the islands and the ocean get farther and farther away.

“First time off world?” The pilot asked, “Yeah…” Niles muttered back. The pilot laughed, “Don’t worry, man, you get used to space,” Niles shook his head, “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this,” he muttered, looking out the window, seeing the stars in the sky.

    ***

“We’ve arrived, here it is,” The pilot said to Niles who had fallen asleep, “What?! Where are we?” Niles muttered sleepily, as he got up and stumbled off the ship into a grassy field, “We’ve made it to Core!” The pilot said, standing beside him. “…Core?” Niles muttered sleepily, “Yeah, the hugest city of all, Core,” The pilot said.

“…Core? ...Core!” Niles spat, “What’s wrong with you I wanted to go to Ceegum!” The pilot shrugged, “Ticket said you wanted to go to Core,” Niles raised an eyebrow, “No it didn’t! It says Ceegum!” he yelled. The pilot examined the ticked for a second time a shrugged, “Well… then you got a free trip to Core, I ain’t takin you all the way to Ceegum now.”

“But what am I supposed to do in Core? I got family in Ceegum, I got nothing here!” Niles blurted, “Not my problem, try finding a job or something…” the pilot muttered, climbing back onto his gummi ship. “Wait! Don’t go! Take me with you!” Niles yelled as the pilot started up his engines. “Sorry man, no free rides,” The pilot yelled, before taking off, leaving Niles in the dust.

“Brilliant, now what?” Niles muttered, looking down at the city of Core, “I guess I need some money to get to Ceegum, and a jobs the only way I can get money…” Niles said to himself, before reluctantly walking down the hillside and towards the city of Core, hoping to find the Job Application Center of Core…

    ***

Niles clumsily walked into the Job Application Center, looking around at the large groups of people nervously. "My names Niles Skinnar," Niles said slowly, introducing himself...

Naia sighed as she leaned against the wall, unable to move since she was chained to it. At least the floor had carpet or this would be really uncomfortable...She looked around the room, taking in the depressing sights. The velvet red wallpaper, the warm queen sized bed, the hand carved cabinets, the beautiful porcelain lamps, the large elaborately decorated mirror...and yet she was stuck in the corner chained to a wall cold and miserable. Yeah, this sucked.
“So is our little prisoner ready to admit defeat?” A cold male voice asked right outside the locked mahogany door. Naia fumed silently, wishing the coward would show his face. “ I guess not....either that or you're asleep. And you know what that-”
“Don't you dare mess with my memories again you bas-”
“Now, now. Is that any way for a lady to talk?”
Naia growled and swore under her breath as her dark red eyes sparkled with hate. The door opened to reveal a guy around 17 as he walked inside smirking. She didn't bother looking at him. What was the point of glaring at someone if they weren't even in their true form?
“Tsk, tsk....poor little Naia...too bad you went against Matisera...trying to seal her away like that...”
“I did what was required to protect my charge. You would have done the same Xavier”
“Glad to see you remembered to use my alias...”Xavier smiled, “Now Roxanne, what if I told you that you could escape punishment?”
“Tch, that's impossible. A snitch like you? Let a traitor like me, out? Ha, in my dreams...”
“Well I guess if you want me to break my promise...”
Naia perked up and looked at him, “You're bound to them...so you can't break it”
He grinned, “Exactly. Now I'm going to let you free and let you live on a new world got it? There you can do whatever you want...”
    “Really? Whatever I want?”
“Yup, on one condition- I get to erase your memories of the past”
Naia froze, her eyes widening in surprise. She looked down at the ground, thinking it over for a second. She looked back up at him, determined,“Do it”
Xavier seemed surprised as well but nodded when he saw the look in her eyes. He grinned,
    “Alright”
    ~*~
“Excuse me...miss?” Roxanne groaned as she was shaken awake, irritated that she had been woken up from her peaceful sleep. She opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was the asphalt.
“Ow...did I really sleep on that?” she asked as she quickly sat up.
“Guess so miss considering that you have dirt all over you” the stranger pointed out.
“Tch..” Naia scoffed as she looked down at herself. She really was covered in dust and gravel. Great and I don't even have money... She stood up and brushed herself off, looking over at the stranger, “Yo, is there any way to get any money around here?”
“But of course. All you have to do is go down to the Job Application Center”
“Thanks. By the way what is this place?”
“Its Core...” the stranger said, looking at her strangely, “Are you sure you're alright miss?”
“I think so...” Roxanne muttered in response before heading down the street, “Thanks for the help!”
“No problem...” the stranger replied, going back to whatever he had been doing.
    ~*~
As she approached the place, she saw a small group of people and decided to join them.
“Name's Roxanne. Nice to meet you...I suppose...”

    Congrats!

I have finals now, so I'm pretty much done for the year. So I don't care if it takes much longer for the profiles to be written. More computer time ftw.

All right, tomorrow, at about the time of this post, we are going to start this RP. So anyone who doesn't have their profile in, please have it by tomorrow. Thanks a ton.

    EDIT: And so it begins.

BIC: Tera Roth turned and blinked at all the four other people in the room. "Heya," he said. "Well then, I can see you guys are all a bit...different. But let's see...how much do you know about this JAC, hmm? You see, I'm the local expert."
