The Ultimate Organization II

Novice opened the door to let Enigma through, his mind deep in thought. Scourge's goals were a mystery to him. He had a pretty good idea of what they involved, but he couldn't quite understand how it would end for him and the rest of the members of the Brotherhood. Novice was a preserver. He was there to make sure that the Brotherhood stays intact in it's current form. Often through shady contacts and black markets. Scourge's vagueness often through him off of his game, though he always knew how to adjust his tactics. He continued to think until...

"Huh," Novice sniffed as Scourged gazed at them from the opposite side of the room. "Looks like we're here."

 

"Novice," Scourge said quietly in his tenor voice, "wait outside for a moment."

Enigma glanced sharply at Scourge, and relaxed visibly, thanking the heavens above that Scourge wasn't in one of his "moods" today. He seemed to be doing better lately, but...every good thing comes to an end.

As Novice left the room, Scourge walked over to a few chairs and sat in one. "Have a seat," he offered.

Enigma shook his head slightly. Scourge shrugged.

"Tell me," he said. "How are our boys doing?"

Enigma wanted to squirm under Scourge's piercing gaze, but refrained. "Our plan is...coming along."

"So you said," Scourge grunted. Silence followed.

Enigma cleared his throat. "How is...it going?"

"Badly," Scourge muttered. "I don't think we'll be able to manage more than a month."

Enigma hissed slightly, and Scourge nodded.

"That's why..." you called me in personally, he finished to himself, looking away, and silently berated himself. "My apologies."

"You've been out of touch," Scourge said calmly. "And I'm mostly sane at the moment, so it's no matter."

Enigma looked up and flushed slightly. "Was I that obvious?"

"Hmph, everyone's obvious," Scourge said bitterly, standing up and walking past Enigma to a table where some beverage or another was awaiting. Pouring himself a glass, he swallowed deeply. "I most of all. Still, it's of little importance in the grand scheme of things. I haven't killed you yet."

Years previous, Enigma would have taken that as a joke, but the years of bitterness were obvious in Scourge's voice.

Enigma stared silently at him for a moment, then stepped forward and leaned in close.

"Just remember who you were when you found me," Enigma said. "I'll never stop believing in you...Rune."

Scourge's eyes widened and he stared at Enigma for a moment, then nodded.

"Thank you, my friend," Scourge said, his voice cracking slightly. Suddenly he straightened, his eyes narrowing. "Leave. Now."

Enigma knew better than to argue. Without further ado, he veritably rushed from the room as a low growl erupted from Scourge.

Grabbing Novice, he leaned close. "Unless you want to die, I suggest you vacate the area immediately. It's back as bad as ever. Let's go."

 

"What?! Again?!" Novice whispered, ripping another portal open to Asgard. "Guess this is a bad time to deliver him some news. " Novice halfway entered the portal before asking, "Enigma, I think you should hear some interesting news. I'll tell you when we return to Asgard."

OOC: This raises even more questions. Sigh...

 

Enigma practically threw himself through the portal, dragging Novice after him and leaned against the bathroom wall, breathing heavily. Wiping sweat that had just sprang onto his brow from it, he turned to Novice.

"What's the news?" he asked, breathing a sigh out.

OOC: And of course, that's what I'm hear for. *takes a bow*

 

"Yesterday during my....'dealings' with the Land of Dragons black market, I found a couple of hopefuls that wish to aid the Brotherhood in some way. The first you may have met. The Asgardian god, Loki. He wishes for our help in destroying the world of Asgard. In return he wishes to take on the Ultimate Organization himself. He's slightly idiotic, but powerful." Novice paused to wipe sweat form his own brow. "The second is the disgraced emperor, Tul Raijin..."

 

Enigma raised an eyebrow, collecting himself mentally. "I take it then that the ex-'Emperor' is not dead..."

He tapped his chin. "I'll deal with Loki. We don't need any more maniacs running around with ideas in their head...After 'Cow Killer', I'd say we've hit an all-time low. Anyway, I can't leave the UO, as you know, so I'll have to ask you to talk with Tul Raijin."

His eyes bored into Novice's. "Remember Novice, don't let it catch you. If it does, I'll have to kill you myself, and that would be decidedly unpleasant...for both of us."

 

Novice gave a cold glance at Enigma, before ripping open another portal. "Yeah. I know," he commented as he left through the portal. Though unassuming, Enigma could very well kill him if he wished. Not to mention that Enigma had a knew his weakness. Likewise, Novice could kill Enigma if he wanted. They had no reason to try and kill each other. THeir skills were necessary for the preservation of the Brotherhood. . At least for now...

 

*Hearing the cheering of the crowds at the end of the match, Darxess awoke, immediately looking in every direction to try and find out what all the racket was*
*Darxess looked at the dust covered arena*
Darxess:"Ah. So Xane won his match. I was begining to think that it was never going to end."
*Darxess stretched and yawn*
Darxess:"That was a nice little nap."
*Darxess jumped up in his seat, followed by the stares of the people sitting around him*
Darxess:"ITS FINALLY MY TURN TO FIGHT!!"
*Darxess immediately ran down the seats, jumping over people as he went, and leaped into the arena*
*Darxess looked at the board on the wall*
Darxess:"So..........who was my opponent again?"
*Darxess heard a gruff, battle-hardened voice behind him*
Aires:"Me. Apparently, you have no luck at all. You just got pared up with the most powerful god in existance!" (OOC:I know he's not the most powerful, but Aires is arrogant and believes that he is)
*Darxess turned around*
Darxess:"Is that so? What about Zeus or Thor or anyone else?"
Aires:"Fool! I am the strongest! I am the god of war!"
Darxess:"Ok. If you say so........"
*Darxess put his arms behind his head in a relaxed state*
Darxess:"By the way, you're one of the gods, so you must be one of the judges. what do you think of our Organization's performance so far?"
Aires:"I think you all a bunch of rag-tagged group of weakling that have won so far only by luck and will be put out like the vermain they are before this tournament ends."
*Aires crosses his arms*
Aires:"And, I think you should step out of the ring before you hurt yourself, old man."
*Darxess disappeared*
*Aires began laughing*
Aires:"Run you coward! *laughs again* No one can stand up to the might of the god of war!"
*Darxess reappeared behind Aires, his skythe drawn up against Aires's throat*
Darxess:"People should learn to respect their elders."
*And with one quick movement, Aires was brought to the ground*
*The whole crowded just stared in silence*
*Darxess walked away, putting away his skythe with a smug look on his face*
*Of course, that smile didn't last long after it got hit by a fist the size of his head*
*Darxess was knocked 3/4 of the distance of the arena in the air*
*He landed and skidded the final fourth of the distance*
*Darxess wound have skidded off the arena itself if he didn't summon his skythe at the last moment and stabbed it into the ground for support*
*His whole lower body dangling off the edge, Darxess slowly dragged himself up*
*When he finally got up, he saw Aires in a full blown rage stading on the opposite end of the arena*
Aires:"YOU FOOL! I AM A GOD! THE GOD OF WAR! I CAN NOT BE BEATEN!"
*Aires clenches his fists, slowly regaining some composure*
Aires:"You should have just gave up and fell. Now, I'm going to have to hurt you."
*Aires drawn out a massive burning sword and got into a battle stance*
*Darxess grabbed his skythe from the ground and did the same*
*Nearly the entire crowd held its breath*
*There was total silence*
*The silence before the storm*

 

"Hey Darxess!," Xane called out. "Use those spike things!"

 

OOC:That might be it for today from me. It will take me some time to think up the next section. Though I still might be able to think it up before the day is over.

 

OOC: That's cool with me. By the way, you don't happen to have the second round matches yet, do you?

 

OOC:Not yet. It also depends on what we are fighting in the second round as much as who. Norse gods, Bortherhood, heartless, new enemies? I don't really know. That stuff is usually up to Darknight. However, if he has nothing planned, then I will try to think of something. But three more matches still aren't finished yet in the first round (Mine, Wing, and Nulix), so let's wait just a little bit.

 

OOC: Just wondering.

 

OOC:Its ok. That was just a lot of words for saying that I have no clue who are next opponents are.

 

OOC: I was kind of expecting the Norse gods. But that might be too soon.

 

Nulix sighed. He was searching for Athena, it was almost six, the match was scheduled for five thirty. He had searched almost the entire stadium section of the city. Now Nulix found himself in an large back ally, the only other people in the area was a family of three taking picture of random things.

“My god…” A man said, walking towards the group, “If it isn’t Nulix! Ladies and Gentleman, it’s Nulix Princeton people!” The man said, raising his voice.

Nulix turned around and looked at man, "Wait... your that guy who shot me!"

“Right, I'm professor Ulian Ecko,” Ulian said, “Me and my buddies have entered this Tournament especially for you and your Ultimate Organization, Nulix. My fellow colleagues think that the only way to defeat your team is to… for lack of a better word, crush you. But I’m different, I think that your reasonable people like the rest of us,” Ulian said, “By the way, I’m with the Brotherhood, in case you couldn’t guess.”

“First, I want to ask you a question, why do we fight?” Ulian asked, “I mean, to be brutally honest, the Brotherhood is like a successful version of the Ultimate Organization.”

“I’ve had enough of this, I don’t care anymore,” Nulix muttered, "I'm going to the police, a crazy guy like yourself shouldn't be shooting people on the street"

“No please, hear me out, I have a really good point,” Ulian said. Nulix shook his head and started to walk away. Ulian sighed and shot the nearby family of three in the throats with a pistol he hid under his sleeve. The three citizens fell to the ground dead.

“What the hell did you do?!” Nulix yelled, pulling out his gunblade. “I was just getting your attention,” Ulian responded. “You asked why we fight, this is why. Because the UO wants to protect the people and the Brotherhood kill the people,” Nulix said, “Like you just did.”

“Yeah, I did," Ulian shrugged, "I just killed three human beings, one of them a child. But... in my defense, you've done the same. Dai Jee, U.P.A., all the others. A bunch of poor nineteen year old idiots who need money, joined the army, and got their lives taken by an organization who says they protect the people."

Ulian smiled, "The only difference between us and you, the Brotherhood and the UO, is that we, at the Brotherhood, accept the fact that we truly do have sinister, evil intentions. You refuse to see that, because of some sense of self righteousness. You call yourselves heroes, just because you refuse to be villains."

Nulix tried to think of a quick response, but he didn't think of anything that would not prove Ulian's point. "The difference... between you and me, is that you, the Brotherhood, want to enslave the people, we don't."

"We... want to rule the land, we don't want to enslave the people." Ulian said, "The only things that change under our rule was the taxes. The people were barely effected at all, in fact... we are probably better for these dark worlds. Because, when these places were not under our rule, the worlds are, pardon the language, sh*t holes. The Dark worlds would be in a far worse conditions if it wasn't for us," Ulian said.

"Alright, that's it buddy." Nulix muttered, pointing his gunblade out, "Do you give up? Or do I have to unleash my fury on you."

"Take in easy, Nul," Ulian said, "I actually wanted to help you out. Earlier I was trying to tell you that Athena will destroy you, and she would of. But she never showed up."

"Your point?" Nulix muttered. "Just a second, man," Ulian said, "I want to help you out actually. You never fought Athena, but the official score board says that you fought against her and won." Ulian said, "You and her began the fight in the ninth arena at five twenty-eight, it ended at five forty-nine. You won, nothing gained nothing learned."

"How did you do that?" Nulix asked, "You can't just say I win a fight and make it so."

"I'm not saying you won, the score board does." Ulian said, "And Athena also says you won." Nulix raised an eyebrow, "How did you get Athena to agree to that?"

Ulian smiled, "There's a lot of money circling this tournament, its the second biggest tournament of the year. If you give someone a bag of money, and keep adding money to that bag, they will eventually do what you say. It seems even the gods aren't immune to corruption."

"...Thanks, but don't help me out again. I can take care of myself," Nulix said.

"I doubt it," Ulian said, pushing past Nulix and walked away. Nulix watched him leave, that man was crazy. Strange that a Brotherhood member actually helped him, or maybe this guy just had other motives then the mainstream Brotherhood. Nulix shook his head and walked away, at least he was past round one.

OOC: This post was just an excuse for me not to fight. Sorry ya'll, I just can't think of a decent Nulix vs. Athena fight.

 

OOC: Nulix, I think you've accidentally created a bad ass.

BIC: As Nulix walked back towards the stands, Xane turned to him and asked, "What happened to your fight?"

 

OOC: Well, well, well...Second matches are, of course, the Judges, proving that Aries himself is not a judge. The judges will be the Norse gods, including Thor and Odin. Nice fight so far, Darxess. Nice ring-around-the-rosie Nulix, lol. I enjoyed it all.

BIC: Enigma walked quickly away from the bathroom, and slammed headfirst into a wall of flesh. He looked up blankly at Xardius, who was standing there with a frown on his face, his arms folded. Enigma blinked, realized who he was looking at, and turned around.

Xardius grabbed him by the back of his shirt and hoisted him up to eye level.

"So, uh, you're with the Brotherhood," Xardius said simply.

Enigma, after a moment, nodded.

Xardius shrugged and put Enigma down. "OK, just so we've got that covered. Now, what the heck are you doing running off like that?"

Enigma frowned. "Huh? Aren't you...never mind. I had to rendezvous with Scourge."

Xardius nodded, staring back at the arena. "Look, I don't know what you're planning, but I have to ask...are you planning to harm the Ultimate Organization?"

Enigma sighed. "The Brotherhood has...conflicting factions at the moment. I'm a member of the faction that believes in, well, let's say a greater destiny for the UO. Scourge himself wants to see if I can pull it off and that's why he assigned me with you." He shrugged again and scrubbed a hand through his hair. "To tell you the truth, I wasn't supposed to be helping you this much. But...I can tell you. The Brotherhood faction in this tournament is the one that wants to destroy you."

He looked up at Xardius and tapped him on the chest. "Do you understand?"

Xardius smiled slightly. "I don't think you'll find me a hard guy to talk to, Enigma."

Enigma nodded after a moment and leaned against the arena wall. "I've wanted to meet you and the other members for quite some time, and I really was overjoyed to be assigned to help you in your fight. Scourge...even I don't understand him, but I do know one thing...he set this tournament up to see which faction would win: the one I personally believe he stands by, the one in which I'm a member...and the one that has people such as Ulian and Zaxor in it."

Xardius turned to look up at the sun and squinted against it. "Tell me, Enigma, since I already know you're in the tournament, which side will you be fighting on?"

Enigma's eyes hardened. "They'll never see me coming."

Xardius turned his head to look at Enigma, eying him up and down. "This is gonna be one heckuva of a show."

Enigma nodded grimly. "On my honor."

OOC: And so...we move on.

 

Nulix turned to Xane, "Uh, I managed to find Athena, she was all crazy and stuff. We had our fight in one of the smaller arenas. The ninth one I think, the ninth arena," Nulix lied, "No one really showed up, there really was no reason to see it, it was pretty boring." Nulix said, "In the end I won of course."

 

OOC:I'm leaving tonight to see batman, so the fight will have to wait till tomorrow.
