Enigma watched in fascination as feathers flew from Xardius' power flames, touching the dead. As the feathers touched, a miracle happened.

    The wounds closed.

    The fingers twitched.

    The chest rose and fell.

    The dead lived again.

Xardius hit his knees heavily, his power fading around him, temporarily gone or perhaps so tightly controlled no iota was set free. Slowly he wrapped his hands and painfully got to his feet.

"Sorry to hog all the fun," Xardius said. "Nurse...Take good care of these people...Where's the...next batch?"

OOC: .......................................... (I'm not very amused)

BIC: "That was it, those were all the people. Thank you sir. Now please, take your leave," The nurse said, escorting Xardius out of the room, closing the door behind her. It wasn't about who could live and who could die, it was about money, and what some family's were willing to pay. That was the number one rule in the business of life, and even though the people in the gas room healed... the fumes would start up again in twenty-one minutes...

"Thank you so much, I'm sure the people's family's are very grateful," The nurse said with a smile at the Hospitals back entrance.

EDIT: OOC: Huh? Are you trying to give the nurse a subplot or something?

BIC: "Huh," Xane said as he walked towards the gas room. He'd never seen anything like it, but wasn't too surprised. It was Xardius. He could probably breathe in space. What really surprised him was the nurses cold treatment of him healing the patients. "Kinda cold," Xane said.

OOC: Well, I thought it was good....Don't bother getting Enigma. He'll get out himself.

Enigma watched the door close. "Huh?" he said. "Didn't they see me?"

"Wha-What's going on?" a man asked, getting to his feet. "I thought I was dead."

"Thank the heavens you aren't," Enigma said, turning around. "Or a certain someone," he mumbled under his breath.

OOC: And that's my night, people. Don't do anything drastic (like killing all the people in the room with gas, -_-) until I get back, OK?

OOC: Not the Nurse, I'm just trying to put a generally bad atmosphere on everything. Its a cold world in the UO, its no place for da weak Pirate! I'm trying to portray it like that... The nurse was just.... a nurse who happened to see Xardius...

OOC: So you're trying to make everyone dislike us? When they have bigger problems like the Brotherhood? Then again...They probably see the U.P.A as the heroes and us and the Brotherhood as terrible people...

OOC: The people or the hospital don't know who the UO is, Pirate. I just said it was a cruel world, for the UO, and, for example, the people in the gas room. The U.P.A. doesn't exists here either.

OOC: I dunno, more conflict makes a good storyline, and that's what drives this thing.

OOC: Yeah, but aren't you overdoing it when nearly everybody's some money loving person, who care more about themselves than others. I'm not trying to complain, as it is interesting. But that nurse is going to kill the people Xardius just healed. I mean, is there a cause for them to be this greedy?

If it was up to the Nurse, she probably wouldn't do it. Its a corporation running the Hospital, the gas runs every twenty-one minutes. The people in that room were scheduled to die. The corp had no clue the people would survive, its just a cruel twist o' fate.

OOC: They should be trained to expect the unexpected. They are (or were...) living on a world full of Asgardian gods. Though, I suppose they could've been rented out for the tournament.

OOC: Oh, blah, I'm ending this argument by doing this...

BIC: Enigma stood in silence as the people milled about, talking to one another. The room had no windows, was in a basement, and had sealed walls that prevented the gas from leaking...or anything from getting in or out period, for that matter. He guessed the walls were at least a foot thick, if not more, and the ceramic floor would be dirt, followed by a layer of concrete underneath that wasn't going to budge.

Enigma stood and contemplated. It seemed a no-win situation.

    Finally, it hit him.

"All right, people, listen up. The gas that they were going to use to send you to your graves quietly is going to start up again in exactly...eighteen minutes now. So, we're going to have to get out of here. Now, I have an idea, so, let's have everybody sit down and breathe normally, there's no gas yet, stop whimpering, you're not gonna die, for heavens' sakes, shut up, and I'll do the plan, all right?" Enigma sighed and walked over to the door, looked at it for a second, and then...

    Knocked politely.

    Nothing happened.

"That was your plan?" whimpered a man.

"Don't throw the tomatoes yet," Enigma smiled as the door opened. "Just a little trick I picked up. I'm glad it worked."

"What did you do?" another person asked as he began motioning them into the hallway.

"Sent a small pulse of energy through the door, down into the lock, forcing the lock out of place," Enigma said. "Hurry please, but don't go any farther than the anteroom outside."

After everyone was through, Enigma checked his watch. "Five minutes. Right, listen up. As I was walking through here, I noticed a back door to the place that way about eleven hundred meters from here. Walk quickly to the exit and exit the building. I'm going to stay here and seal the door again."

Enigma didn't bother to shut the gas room door. He'd ruined the sealing around it; the gas would just leak through. So...Instead, he constructed his own door out of the old one. It looked identical, shut just as well. He checked his watch.

"15 seconds, right," Enigma said, as he watched the last recently dead person walk through the exit. "10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4."

At 4, he began shutting the door. "3. 2. 1."

The door slammed shut, and the seal snapped into place. Enigma listened for a moment.

"Now why did I cut it so close, you wonder?" Enigma asked the man standing behind him. "I was waiting for you."

"I'm sure," Hegemoth said, stepping from the shadows. "Time to pay up."

"You blokes aren't too smart are you?" Enigma asked. "If you really knew who I was..."

The man's hood flipped off, and Enigma paled.

"I know who you are," the man said, smiling grimly. "I don't think you'll survive."

Enigma looked from Hegemoth to the man, shook his head slightly, sighed, turned and yanked the door off its hinges.

    OOC: Crash! Boom! Rah! *chaos&terror*

BIC: Adumbral walked into his ice lair.. thing spinning the chunk on Uru on his finger. This little rock would solve all of his problems quite nicely. Placing it on a pedestal he breathed deeply. He needed to act afraid and stupid. Just like his True Self.. or Other.. or whatever.

Walking slowly up to Xegreny's cage, he whispered through the bars "Y... you there?"

From far back in the cage, was Xegreny, still chained to the wall. The nearby walls had numerous cracks and burns in them, from attempts at escape. Xegreny himself was pretty badly beat up. Adumbral had to come in and beat the living snot out of him.. to keep him quiet.

"What do you want. Can't you see you've tortured me enough?" Xegreny muttered bitterly from the back.

"No no! It's me! The True Self!" Adumbral said in a mock tone.

"Wh- what? Really?" Xegreny said trying to look at the figure before him through the bars. It definately was him. But that meant it was either really the True Self.. or Adumbral. But Adumbral wouldn't bother talking to him casually like this. Adumbral was insane.

"Look! We need to merge together. That's what Adumbral is going to do to us.. but if we do it first, we could overpower him and escape!" Adumbral said, continuing on with his mock tone, fighting desperately to hide his grin.

"Yeah.. yeah, that would work. We could definately escape at least..." Xegreny said thinking out loud..

"Excellent.." The not-other said with the smallest smile ever.
