Nulix sighed, "Yeah, I guess we can't afford to take a break..."

 

"Well, well, look who we have here," Tera Roth said, stepping out of the shadows with an almost evil grin on his face. "The guys who threatened to kill our boss...You think I'm just going to welcome you with open arms?"

Pulling out his sword, he pointed it at the group. "Prepare to fight!"

Highwind smacked Tera Roth on the back of his head, causing him to yelp and hop around holding his head and sobbing.

Highwind nodded to the UO members. "All right, so I'm going to have to take you to the boss for this. Just follow me."

 

"The boss?" Xane asked with his eyebrow raised. "Whatever...Just take us where we need to go."

 

"Wait, why? Your just going to take us to your boss? No, secret smoke and mirrors?" Xegreny said dumbfounded. Mentally shrugging he thought to himself, Oh well, I or someone else will probably kill Richards on sight either way.

 

"The Boss? You guys under new management?" Nulix asked...

 

Tera Roth bristled. "No, our management hasn't changed since the Central Government was created. Now, come on, I guess..."

Walking stiffly and rubbing his head, Tera Roth led the group down the street, opening the door to a shabby-looking building on the right and motioning them through.

 

Xegreny warily walked through the door, keeping an eye out for assassins or something of some such thing. Keeping aware, Xeg prepared himself for a fight at moment's notice.

 

"Looks like this place could collapse any minute." Xane said.

 

"I thought only your sidekick was with the Central Government, whats his name? Tire Mutt? Tyre Rutt? Something like that..." Nulix said, "But now your with the Central Government, Tera? Why, why I ask. What do they have to offer?"

 

"The Enigmatic Knights have ALWAYS been under Central Government management! NOW GET YOUR BUTT THROUGH THE DOOR!" Tera Roth roared.

Inside the house were a man and a woman, both leaning over a table.

The man was lean, with sharply cut fine brown hair and green eyes that shone in the dim light.

The woman was tall, with short black hair tied back out of her face. Her eyes were black and seemed to suck the light in.

"Calm down," the man said, looking over his shoulder. "Let them come inside, for heavens' sakes."

"And it's pronounced Tear," Highwind said to Nulix.

 

Plopping down in a chair, Xegreny said "I hope your not going to try and kill us. Oh and, no we won't work with you and or help you. Just in case you ask."

 

"So, what do you want to see us for anyway?" Xane asked.

 

Nulix was going to reply sarcastically to Highwind before he saw the two people leaning over the table, "Who are these two?" he asked, sitting down beside Xegreny...

 

The woman turned away, obviously hiding a rather large smirk that she wasn't really hiding.

The man blinked.

"Um, I don't want your help, thank you, but you obviously want ours, else you wouldn't be here. Now, I'm sorry that I, the Jack, and she, the Ace, have to greet you, but the King, Queen, and Joker are out shopping right now..." the Jack said stoically. "Now, the only way into the Chaotic Desert, because Disney Castle is no longer a viable option, is by opening a time portal yourself. We know how to do that, but it's going to take some work, got it?"

OOC: No, they're not going to tell you their names, just call them Jack and Ace.

 

"Probably high level agents, that are going to offer us time-travel in exchange for a job. Thats when we say no, and leave." Xegreny said, bored sounding. He really didn't care to have any dealings with the EK. He had no problems with Tera, Tyre and Highwind to be sure. But, if they could get us to work with them once, then it'll happen again.

"You'll find we're quite industrious. Are you going to show us or not?" Xegreny said briskly, wanting to spend as little time with these people as possible. He'd have to end up killing them most likely one way or another, so... it would be best if they didn't learn TOO much about him.. what they didn't already know anyway.

 

"So we gotta trust the Royal Flush Gang to lead us into a portal to the past. Something doesn't seem right about this." Xane said.

 

"Oh, we're quite aware of pretty much everything about you all," the Jack said. "After all, we've been collecting data on you from your first contact with the Enigmatic Knights."

"And whether or not you're comfortable really isn't my concern," he continued."But enough of that. Let's try to make this as painless as possible shall we? First off, clear your mind of every thought, emotion, etc. Become a void."

"Second," the Ace said, speaking up for the first time, "picture a door. I want you to know that there is a door in front of you and then next, that beyond it is this."

She held up a picture depicting a desert with an oasis not too far away and a city beyond that.

"Third," the Jack said. "Picture a clock next to the door. It doesn't matter what kind. Picture the date as 1:27 P.M., and understand that this time is not current but before. Exactly 3 days, 5 months, and 32 years ago."

"Four," the Ace said. "Open the door."

"And you will have your portal," the Jack said, turning back to the map on the table.

 

".......Uh-huh....." Xane nodded skeptically.

 

"Yeah, yeah... I'm not doing that," Nulix replied to the Ace and the Jack, "Whatever you want us to do, it helps the Knights somehow, and I'm against that, so yeah, I'll just be on my way..."

 

Grabbing the picture off of the desk, examining it, and then putting it back Xegreny said "Next time we go to the past, we'll just wait for Xardius to come back.."

Following the instructions given to him, Xegreny cleared his mind and pictured the door, with the oasis on the other side. He made a clock next to it just as he was told as well, depicting 1:27 PM 3 days, 5 months, and 32 years ago. Blindly reaching out towards his imaginary door, he grasped at what he thought was the imaginary door handle, and yanked it back. Of course, the whole time, he had his eyes to concentrate better. Peeking one open he asked, "Did it work?"
