Vecked stumbled backward for a second, before teleporting away. Far far away...

"Damn it... he got away... and he took the Virus with him!" Alyt yelled. Skinnar just chuckled, "He's not powerful enough to open the Virus orb on his own... he can only do it on his own if he's at the Skypit, I think."

Alyt glanced at Skinnar, "So he's waiting for the army to get to the Skypit, same as us. Once they set up the teleporter to us, he will try and go through. This is our chance to get the Virus back."

Skinnar nodded, "By the way, you wouldn't be worried about your trog friend who just got nuked, would you?"

 

"Not really," Xane said. "They're phoenixes. They survive crap like that every day."

 

OOC: Probably true....

BIC: Xardius slowly pulled himself up, coughing weakly. I've never used that much before, all at once. Body couldn't handle it. He put a hand over his stomach, and winced. Don't think I have much left in there. Intestines, stomach, bladder, kidneys...They're all holed pretty bad.

His hand moved up. One lung's collapsed too. I'm not going to last much longer...

Standing up on shaky legs, ignoring the pain and the blood coming from his mouth, nose, ears, and eyes, Xardius began stumbling back towards the portal.

I feel like my entire insides were pulped, Xardius thought. So that's my power...

His boot caught a tuft of grass and he fell, but as he fell, the world froze.

What am I doing? he asked himself. Am I really satisfied with this? Without the Virus, this is the future I have to look forward to...Black insanity.

His lips twisted in a smirk. What a joke for me. I've always thought of myself as a monster, but...I'm really going to be one.

"How long are you going to keep falling?" a tenor voice asked, and Xardius hit the ground heavily. Standing, his eyes widened.

"Rune?" he asked, raising a hand. "Is that really you?"

"Hmph," Rune said, brushing hair from his eyes. "You don't understand anything. Yes, it's me. The old me. I'm just a data fragment in your mind, though, and I won't last long. I'll heal you, and then you have to go fight me."

"How?" Xardius grunted. "I can't even use my power anymore."

"Don't worry about it," Rune said, raising a hand. "I have a plan."

The next thing Xardius remembered, he was stumbling through the portal, fully healed and angry.

 

"Welcome back, Xardy," Skinnar greeted as Xardius entered the ship through a portal. "Looks like the trog team is screwed again."

 

Xardius punched Skinnar in the face, a right hook that sent him sprawling out of his seat. "You just shut up alright? Don't speak again or I'll rip your heart out."

Sitting down, Xardius glared at nothing in particular. "Venture, you have been moving this bucket towards the Brotherhood, right?"

OOC: Despite what it seems, Xardius punched Skinnar because he called him 'Xardy.' I'm not sure what 'despite what it seems' means but...whatever.

 

OOC: I know what it means, but I'm not gonna tell you.

BIC: "We have been moving there the whole time," Alyt muttered, "But our information of a clear route came from a U.P.A. agent and Vecked, so... you know. We should get a different route."

 

Venture winced slightly at the term, 'bucket', but he replied calmly, "Yes. Why do you ask?"

 

"I asked because I'm a little disoriented from portal hopping," Xardius sighed.

"What other routes are there?" Xardius grumbled, folding his arms and tapping his feet impatiently. "We're already about halfway there, anyway. I won't argue against going another way, but we could still push forward. We'd probably have as good of a chance as any."

 

"Its a clear route, trust me," Julien Krotov added. "If the U.O. find us, they will attack. I'm the ship that they will attack. I don't want to die. Its a clear route for that reason."

 

Venture quickly checked thorugh the ship's scanners. There's a quick turn I can make to get us outta here," he explained. "We may run into a small amount of U.P.A ships, but not too much."

In the Brotherhood homeworld...

The meditating figure of Tul Raijin slowly opened his eyes. He hadn't done so in two weeks. He didn't need food, nor sleep. He merely got up to take a sip of water from the riverbed he usually was found on during his free time.

Looking toward the sky, he smirked and said, "It's time."

 

"Time is relative," Trent said, walking up to him. "I'm glad I didn't have to wake you up. Scourge wants us to take our positions. Enigma says they're coming soon."

Xardius rubbed his temples. "I don't care what you do, Venture, but make sure it gets me to Scourge...soon."

He paused. "Wait. I could open us a portal straight there..."

 

"It will be done," Raijin nodded, teleporting to his position. The pieces were set. The only question was...Was the Ultimate Organization prepared to play the game?

The whole crew stared at Xardius in silence.

"Why...didn't you do that in the first place!?" Xane shouted, echoing everyone's thoughts.

 

"I didn't think of it," Xardius grunted. "This kind of feels like cheating, but...I should be able to take something this size across...Unless we just want to leave the ship here and jump through a portal like that one..."

Xardius gestured at Wing's still open portal.

 

Ulian Ecko sat in his snipers nest on the moon of Bangradouychia Nine, a small moon on the edge of the Ulfire system. There were no troops here, not even in the sniper nest he had found. He had been ordered by the Brotherhood to wait here, wait for something. But he had no clue what that something was, or maybe he did and just forgot. It didn't matter. What did matter was that on this particular evening May 26th, 2244, he was gazing at the stars when something happened. His favorite star, Japoti 9, was blocked by a blockade fleet flying all fleet like.

Ulian increased the zoom on his rifle, interested by the happening. He zoomed in more until he could see the name on the side of the ship. It was blurry but he could still read it out. "Hyron 8B?" Ulian muttered, "That was also the last message from the Royal Battle Star Cruiser. It was one of Skinnar's crew, sending a message about being captured by a fleet of Knights, led by a guy with a big noise driving a Hyron 8B... or sailing a Hyron 8B, I can't remember which it was... thats annoying."

Ecko decided to follow the strange ship instead of doing something productive. He jumped out of the nest and straight into his small green Ulfire cruiser. "Sailing or driving, which was it?" He muttered as he took off from the moon...

Alyt shook her head. "We should avoid the U.P.A. at all costs, I think..."

 

OOC: Ecko's alive? And hey! You found the ship's name!

BIC: "The way I see it, "Venture says. "All of us who need to fight the Brotherhood should go through the portal. Everyone else should take the ship and take on the U.P.A forces with the rest of the fleet."

Xane nods in agreement, as do some of the other crew members aboard the Hyron.

 

OOC: Of course he is. If he was dead it would mean Nulix was actually skilled enough to defeat a Brotherhood member, which of course he wasn't and isn't...

BIC: "I'm going after the Brotherhood," Alyt said. "And what about me?" Skinnar asked, "If you let me go with the U.P.A. confrontation crew I will get rescued, then I tell them where you are, and then the whole god damn U.O. army will be at your heels within the day."

 

"Oh, we're bringing you with us..." Mellodia stated.

"It's way too much of a risk if we keep you here to face the U.O," Xane started. "Actually, you're a danger to us, wherever we go...But we need to keep an eye on you, so..."

 

Dyran Dirge finished tying off the burns he'd received from the light. Sighing, he turned his golden eyes on the softly glowing tube in which the body hovered.

"Thank you, Dyran," Scourge said, stepping back from the tube. "This should work perfectly."

"I should thank you," Dyran said calmly. "After all, I would never have thought of..."

Scourge waved his hand, dismissing the statement. "You should get to your post now."

Dyran bowed and turned, but Scourge's voice stopped him again.

"It must have been of some intensity for you to have gotten burns in that form," Scourge said softly.

Dyran looked back at Scourge. "No one else would have survived."

"And yet," Scourge said, turning back to the tube. "The body is whole."

Dyran shrugged. "Does it matter?"

Scourge smiled slightly. "It's just interesting...I'll see you later."

Dyran nodded, and left the room, leaving Scourge alone with the two softly glowing tubes and their silent hosts.

Xardius nodded, and concentrated, opening a portal out. "This should put us at about where we were going to land..."

 

"It's now or never," Xane said, trying to sound as action movie-like as possible. "Everybody ready?"

 

Alyt nodded, "I'm ready..."
