The Ultimate Organization III

"Approach with caution," Commander Beau whispered, creeping closer. "Looks like the Bronss Gang has a few more secrets hidden," Nulix muttered. "This is not the Bronss gangs doing," Beau replied, "It doesn't has their insignia on it."

 

Xardius could feel it. His muscles tensed even further, like a spring winding up. This is what he had sensed before. This was the source of his passion for warfare.

Slowly, he stepped forward. "Everyone, back away about 20 feet. Then Wing, open it with your wind powers. I'll make sure it's nothing...dangerous."

The way he said made him sound like he was almost hopeful it was.

 

"Right"


Wing could feel that Xardius knew something. It was odd, they tried to hide things from one another, knowing full well that the other could sense something was up. He levitated up into the air about twenty feet and waited for the rest of the soldiers to back up. When they were all far enough back he snapped his fingers, blowing the top off the box. whatever happened next was xardius' problem

 

The box opened, with nothing in it. "False alarm," Commander Beau muttered, turning around, "Lets go gang."

 

Xane looked above the box, wondering if there was really anything in there.

"I'm not so sure," Xane frowned. "Xardius! Throw a fireball down there or something. Make sure nothing's in it!"

 

"Oh theres something there alright...and I think opening the box was a bad idea. Have any of you heard the story of Pandora's box?"

He said as his feet touched the ground, keyblades in hand.

"any body who goes near that box will be trapped inside it, forced to fight their worst nightmares. Their hope, gone."

 

Xardius didn't bother. He simply gutted the box, ripping it to shreds.

He felt as if a shadow was caressing his face after he was done, and his eyes narrowed.

Pain exploded like a thousand needles hitting his back at once, and Xardius gasped in surprise, falling to the ground as the shadows around him coalesced into a humanoid form.

"So that's what you are," Xardius smirked as the pain receded. "A wraith. Not the greatest thing on the planet but you'll do."

He grabbed the wraith's neck and squeezed. The wraith reeled back and tried to escape, but Xardius' hand tightened and the wraith stopped struggling. Xardius stood, bringing the wraith up with him.

"You're the source of my battle lust," Xardius said. "Well, I suspected. You should come in handy, so instead of stuffing you back in your box, I'll forgive you for hurting me and I'll simply request you join me for a while."

The wraith ceased struggling, as if considering, then the head nodded.

"Good," Xardius said, pulling out a crystal. "Hop in."

The wraith obligingly extended a hand, and in an instant, was gone.

Xardius put the crystal back in his belt. "We can leave now."

 

"No we can not," Nulix replied, putting his weapons away. "The Virus could still be on this world. We found the Janitor, thats the biggest clue in UO history. We can find it, probably."

 

"...What was that all about?" Xane asked, watching Xardius grab some angry looking creature and shove it into a crystal. "And we still haven't searched the Janitor's house for any clues."

 

Wing shrugged and shook his head.

"Leave it to the big guy to prove me wrong" He chuckled and looked over to Nulix shouting that they couldn't leave yet.

"Wel if the Virus was here...dont you think it would have responded to us yet? Maybe we should go after Ziet and make them tell us where the Virus is."

 

"The Virus is crazy... it probably doesn't care were here," Nulix muttered, before rubbing his head. "It does seem pretty strange that they placed a sword in a box fit for the Virus... eh?"

 

"They're morons," Xane explained. "Unless, the Virus and the sword are connected, we don't have anything to worry about.

 

"Maybe," Nulix muttered, "Or maybe that was just a distraction. Maybe they got the Virus out just in time. That sword didn't seem like a weapon capable of killing anything." Nulix looked at the box where the sword had been. Nulix examined it closely. "There's a small spot that's different then the others. The box was made in a line like fashion. But there's one spot here that just looks like a circle." Nulix shook his head. "What if the Virus was here, came out through here, and then remolded the escape hole?"

 

"You weren't wrong," Xardius said. "It tried to steal my soul. But I'm a little bit stronger than it suspected, so it only got a piece of it. If it had succeeded, the effect would have been instantaneous. I would be inside the box, and the wraith would be me. Well, not me, me, but you get the idea. Pandora was the first one who discovered it..."

He chuckled. "Unlucky her. Still...Anyway, it didn't effect the rest of you all that much probably, because it wanted me. It made me think there was something mighty great to fight in there. I'm keeping it until I can get that piece of my soul back, then I'll probably stuff it in a box again."

Xardius considered what Nulix said. "That might be possible. Or they could have put the Virus inside the sword. That way they could have had a double protection thing going."

OOC: Xardius is attempting to brainstorm...

 

"So, they still might have the Virus?" Xane asked. "Well, let's go find them and beat them up until they tell us where it is. It's really that simple."

 

"This would be a whole lot easier if we knew what the Virus was capable of," Nulix muttered. "Lets head back in the cave, find more clues. The remaining gang members probably evacuated by now..."

 

"Shatter the sword." Wing sad with a casual shrug

"We have to be sure right?" he smirked looking over to Xardius. "Care to do the honor mr. mussels?"

 

"We've seen the Virus in action before," Xane said. "We know everything it can do, don't we?"

 

"We've seen it twice," Nulix muttered, "In Olympia it went crazy on Vecked's air fleet, then disappeared. And in Cosmo Canyon it was just standin' there and then throwing people like mad. I'm sure it can do more."

 

"We know how it can infect people," Xane said. "And how it nearly destroyed the Sora System during that time we were in Kingdom Hearts."
