Vecked sat cross legged in the windy field, the grass going well above his head. Vecked knew he wasn't very deep, extraordinarily complex, or a master tactician. He was just another pawn, Vecked knew that now.

Two Weeks Ago...

"Jesus Christ, Aeron's dead..." Hojan said, as the burnt up body of what used to be Aeron Acteon hit the ground. Naturally, Vecked and the rest of his terrorist group, stranded on Destiny City, got caught and went straight to the local jail cells. After a few hours there a man in a gummi ship came to save them, saying he was a member of the group that Vecked had been taking orders from, the group who was really responsible for the two attacks that had started the new war.

"Get in," The pilot of the blue and gold land, air and space Gummi Ship said to the group. Vecked, Aeron, Hojan, and Alyt all climbed in, trying to fit in the compact four seater gummi. "You don't know how glad I am to see you," Hojan said to the pilot. The pilot chuckled, before turning around, gun in hand. "Sorry, your part is over," The pilot said.

As soon as the pilot said this, Aeron teleported his friends to the ground. Unfortunately for Aeron, the ship came back. Vecked set the gummi aflame, it flew to the ground directly into Aeron who tried to teleport away. Unfortunately, his powers failed him.

Vecked blew the flames off the gummi ship with a flick of his wrist, "Alyt, can you fix this?" He asked, Alyt nodded. "Vecked, we have to bury him," Hojan said, holding Aeron's body carefully. "Why?" Vecked asked, "People die, its a shame, he was a valuable member of our team..."

Hojan chuckled, "So that's all you care about? Your team? Your little terrorist group?"

"Not mine anymore, they just tried to kill us," Vecked replied.

"So what now?" Hojan asked, "They're done with us. What's our next move?"

Vecked sighed, "I don't know..."

"How we going to rebuild our home now?" Hojan asked, "These people promised you they would get in contact with Daytona, a corporation you claim built the Air County, Water Nation and all the rest hundreds of years ago as a side project. That's why I agreed to help you, because there might of been a possibility of getting my home back!"

"Calm down, I'll think of something..." Vecked muttered.

Hojan smiled, "No you won't... see you around, loser."

Vecked sighed, watching as Hojan strutted away. "All done," Alyt muttered, getting up from beside the ship. "Nothing major, just an emergency heat shut down," Alyt explained.

Vecked nodded, before looking at her, "What are you gonna do?" he asked. Alyt sighed, "God, who knows... my life has been one long roller-coaster, you know? I wasn't happy as a child in prep school, I liked the Knights... I liked being part of a greater team, but then that deal was too good to keep. I mean, Dragoon left, I don't even know if he's alive-"

"I'm pretty sure he's dead," Vecked interrupted.

"Thats nice," Alyt replied, rubbing her forehead, "Xane's with the UO... then there's Tera..."

"Yeah, what happened with you two?" Vecked asked.

Alyt sighed, "I don't even know... The League of Roth went through some hard times, we had a grand attack on the U.P.A., thinking it would end the Virus war... we never did the attack because the Dai Jee invaded... during that time it was just me, Tera, Tyre, and a few others... then he said he was a heartless... then I went off doing my own thing..."

"So now what?" Vecked asked. Alyt shrugged, "I need a real life... I can't live like this. I'm gonna try to finish school, maybe get reconnected with family... something like that."

"Well," Vecked said, stretching a bit, "Good luck."

Alyt nodded, "You too, Veck... I'll be seeing you."

Vecked nodded, "You ever need something, come find me, Alyt... thats what friends are for!" Alyt made an acknowledging hand gesture as she walked away. Vecked smiled, Alyt was a good person, and good people finished last. Vecked wasn't a good person, he knew that, and thats why he would hopefully get to his goals.

Five Days Ago...

"Hello?"

"Hello, Vecked. You've been in space for two days now. Hojan has gone to King Mickey, and Alyt is off to the Dark Worlds..."

"I'll find you, trust me."

"I doubt that, Vecked, you go on any world, even in the Dark Worlds, and the U.P.A. will shoot you down."

"Let me ask you something... do you think calls can't be tracked?"

Vecked smiled as the person on the other end hung up, he had their location. The EK number was 882921, that was Iceving Falls, Yamagachi City, 164 Bulldarg Street, Apt. 1A.

One Day Ago...

Vecked walked down the hall. He had gone straight to the location, Yamagachi City. He hadn't been here in... years. It wasn't too hard to find Bulldarg street, it was just off the red subway line. It was a rundown neighborhood, and the apartment building was no exception. Vecked finally reached apt 1A. A swift roundhouse kick knocked the door down. Vecked walked into the apartment, it was small, and completely empty. There was a man in the corner, head against the wall.

"Hello?" Vecked asked the man who didn't respond, "Are you alright?"

The man suddenly got up and turned around, "Jesus Christ, Vecked Prince," The man said.

"Fox..." Vecked said, "What the hell are you doing here?"

The man chuckled, "Wow... Vecked, you look different. Its been three years, right?"

"Four," Vecked corrected, "Now stop stalling. Your not the one giving the orders, your just the voice."

"True, I'm just a pawn, like you," Fox said.

"I'm not a pawn," Vecked replied, "Stop stalling. Who is doing this?"

Fox smiled, "They got you to do their dirty work by saying they had connections to Daytona, a production company that was only in business for nineteen years."

"What?" Vecked asked.

Fox glanced at Vecked, "Your chasing a dream, Vecked. Kingdom Hearts is gone. You can't get it back unless you go back in time. Now let me tell you, Vecked, let me tell you a bit of history. Right before the Keyblade war, a small production company called Daytona tried to recreate something long lost. They took Patro 7, the largest gas giant in the known universe, and covered it with metal."

"Why are you telling me this?" Vecked asked.

"To give you a purpose," Fox replied, "The project was cancelled and the company went under new management, they were called the Universal Peace Alliance, an organization that was reformed to keep track of the history. New management turned it into military, claiming that controlling the new history was part of the job. Eventually, over the years, the U.P.A. turned into the organization you see today. The official military of the Sora System... this makes some people forget that they are still privately owned."

"What are you telling me...?" Vecked asked.

Fox smiled, "I'm just stating facts..."

"Give me a name to go by," Vecked said, "I want to know who did these attacks."

Fox sighed, "They'll kill me."

"I'll kill you," Vecked replied.

Fox nodded, "Right... if I'd have to give you a name... I guess it would be the most obvious, Klu-"

Fox was suddenly blown into the wall, half his head crack open, a red laser light where he used to be. "Oh crap," Vecked muttered, before collapsing to the ground and crawling towards the entrance. Once in the hallway, Vecked got back on his feet and went into the elevator. He had parked his ship on the roof. Vecked ran out of the elevator as soon as the doors opened, his ship was just ahead of him. He jumped in the ship and started it up, the gunner was firing at him, hitting the ground nearby.

Once the system came to life Vecked was airborne, flying out of the area as fast as he could. Vecked gave a sigh of relief as the ground became more and more distant. "Now to get out of here," Vecked muttered, before looking at his radar. Icevingfalls, the city, wasn't far from here... he could make it in less then three hours.

Vecked landed in the grassy fields of what used to be his home city, there was nothing but wildlife here now. The river ran through the area freely now, the grass grew tall and wild. Vecked sighed, sitting on the ground. He was a pawn. He had no plans, no achievable goals. When did his life go wrong.


OOC: Blah... sorry about all the flashback posts, I haven't been here so neither have my characters.

 

OOC: It's alright. My only problem is having to read them all...Just joking. Anyway, they do set up some interesting plot points.

 

OOC: OK, well, here's the deal. I'm going to start doing Xardius...I'm going to drag out Novice and Kardas a long time...

BIC: Kardas shook his head. "Do you know why I'm here, Novice?"

Approximately 16 hours earlier...

The setting sun set her hair afire with light, making her eyes sparkle like blue gems. He'd never seen anything so beautiful...

"Make me a promise," she said.

But...You're not real.

"Don't grow any taller," she smiled, and he swallowed as she leaned in close.

It's just a dream.

"It'll make you even harder to kiss," she whispered, and their lips met...

"Darius Lionheart."

Xardius opened his eyes. Before him stood a woman with dark skin, hair and eyes, which were staring intently at him.

He coughed. "Yeah?"

"I have need of you," the woman said, squatting beside him where he leaned against the dingy alley wall, near the great castle that stood in the dark Radiant Garden.

"Nothing new," Xardius said, sucking another long swallow from his bottle of orange soda and chucking it down the alley.

The woman said nothing.

"What is it?" Xardius asked tiredly.

The woman shook her head. "You are not what I expected."

"Better or worse?" Xardius growled, struggling to his feet, expectedly dwarfing the woman.

"Different," the woman said, standing as well. "I'd heard you were taller."

"Good one," Xardius said, walking off. "I'll remember that."

"You're not going to hear my request?" the woman asked, sounding annoyed as she followed him. She's annoyed...

"I've got work to do" Xardius said, picking up Chomper where he'd stashed it, and returning it to his back.

"Work which you don't know how to do," the woman said. "Let me help you."

"You help me? So your request is to let you help me? Give me a break," Xardius said, spreading his hands. "What?"

The woman sighed. "Fine, then take a hint: The twilight holds what you seek."

Xardius shook his head. "First rule, lady, never underestimate me."

The woman's eyes narrowed. "You were lying in an alley..."

"Never make assumptions," Xardius said as he walked away. "Assumptions only hurt the assuming."

The woman watched him go, then promptly disappeared.

EDIT OOC: Let me read your post before I edit in my response to it Nulix...

EDIT2 OOC: OK, here we go...

BIC: "So you've finally realized," Enigma said, appearing next to Vecked. "No matter, you'll still be useful. Come."

Enigma grabbed Vecked, and the two jumped. The next instant, they were on a rocky ledge overlooking a pit of twilight.

"The entrance to the twilight realm of the dark worlds," Enigma said, releasing Vecked.

 

"I can make a couple of good guesses," Novice mumbled.

 

Vecked chuckled, "I'm not in the mood, Enigma..." he muttered. "I actually have things to do. It's been fun but I'm on to something a bit bigger then messing around with you pathetic pawns, you understand me, Enigma? I'm not one of you. I have a bigger reason to be alive then you pathetic little planners thinking your in control when actually your just pawns, you understand? I'm not a pawn... unlike you. Now get me to Scourge if he wants to talk, or get me back to where I was."

 

"But you are a pawn," Enigma said, smiling. "You are a pawn in denial. You want to talk to Scourge...? Pawns don't talk to kings."

With that, Enigma pushed Vecked into the spiraling twilight, calling after him. "Don't ever forget...You. Are. Nothing."

Then there was only twilight.

It didn't last long, after about 15 seconds of being blasted around by the chaos, Vecked landed on dirt. Looking around, there was the blazing sun, sand, and a few huge rocks. A small oasis stood nearby, shaded from the sun by massive rocks.

Kardas smiled. "Tell me..."

14 hours earlier...

Xardius' head hurt. It always did after one of his dreams. But he had no time to dwell on that. It had taken him nearly two hours to find the same portal Wing had used to enter the twilight realm where he had gained his immense twilight powers from Crissilia.

Finally, he opened the portal, and stepped through. As he did so, he nearly got gutted by a Nobody. Long-hardened instincts and innate speed saved him, although he was sure he would have survived the blow anyway. Within half a second, the Nobody was dead.

But there were more. Lots more.

Xardius shook his head. "What are you all doing here?"

In response, the Nobodies rushed him.

"You've got to be kidding me," Xardius said, letting loose Firajas in all directions, obliterating the Nobodies. "No one's that stupid."

"It is desperate," Crissilia said, stepping through the floating ashes of the Nobodies. "The twilight wants you to leave."

 

"To kill me," Novice coughed. "To take me to Scourge. Maybe question me."

 

Vecked gave a chuckle, "I'm a pawn... I'm a god damn prince is what I am! I'm the fire in Wind and Flame! I put Scourge in a corner! Me, with absolutely nothing, have trumped every single so called king! I trumped the politicians in Yamagachi! I trumped King Mickey! I trumped Darxess! I trumped Hojan! I trumped my father! I'm better then all of you, god damn it..."

Vecked voice became a whisper. "I'm better then all of you..." he muttered, walking towards the oasis...

 

OOC: Here's my new character.

BIC: "None of the above," Kardas grinned. "I just want to watch you bleed."

The ground rippled as Vecked approached the Oasis, and the rocks began to move...

12 hours earlier...

Xardius was sweating. It had been a while. 2 hours of fighting a massive armada of Nobodies can do that to you...

All the time, Crissilia watched dispassionately, occasionally telling him to leave...

Finally, he got sick of it, and let loose a Chaotic Ultimagum.

He guessed that made her mad, because the Nobodies stopped appearing and she attacked him herself.

So, now he was blocking blow after blow from Crissilia's sword. He'd quickly traded Chomper for Shurunrai so he could move even faster, and so was quite easily keeping pace with the smaller person.

Despite what people thought, shorter people had a large advantage over tall people due to the normal method of large people to use their size and weight as an advantage. Of course, it often didn't make a difference when a slightly taller person fought a slightly smaller person, but with Xardius and Crissilia, the difference was in feet not inches.

Aim tighter, Xardius thought. One of the many rules I had to learn.

And so Crissilia found herself blown back by Xardius' sheer prowess with a blade.

Crissilia gritted her teeth. "You must leave here...!"

"I'm here to learn about what's going on with Wing," Xardius said. "I would think you of all people would want that. Or are you condemning him to death?"

Crissilia said nothing, but raised her sword.

"Fine," Xardius said. "Show me the power of a true goddess, why don't you?"

"I have more power than even you," Crissilia said. "The Flame goddess will not stop me gutting you."

Xardius started laughing as Crissilia charged. This was going to be fun.

 

Vecked glanced at the rocks, "Whats this..." He muttered so that anyone listening could hear him...

 

OOC: Is that all?

BIC: Novice managed a smile before saying, "Aw, don't worry Kardas. Soon you'll end up like me too. Soon those kids'll defeat you. You'll see," Novice laughed, before looking up in the sky, saying, "Hope you'll forgive me...Layla..."

OOC: Gotta go.

 

"GOLEM," the rocks said, and then an eruption of rocks flew upwards, landing in order into two legs, a body, two arms, and a head. From the center of the oasis, a shiny object fell and collided into the center. Power flooded into the rocks and they cracked as the golem stretched. Sand streamed upwards, coating the golem with a protective layer, and it turned to Vecked.

"GOLEM," the golem said, and stepped towards Vecked, one hand reaching to crush the intruder.

12 hours earlier...

"Give up!" Crissilia gasped for breath. "Leave!"

"You first," Xardius said, bashing her back. "We've been fighting for nearly two hours now. This is ridiculous. If this is going to take this long..."

Crissilia dodged his swing and sliced at him with his sword for the umpteenth time. Xardius blocked, disengaged, and sent her flying backwards.

"Why do you not push your advantage?" the woman asked, making Xardius jump.

"It's not my style," he said.

"Who are you talking to?" Crissilia yelled, attacking him again. Xardius beat her back more easily than normal.

"That's creepy," he said to the woman. She shrugged.

"You must have felt it by now," the woman said. "The taint..."

"Hmph," Xardius said. "Yeah, there's something wrong here..."

"Look at it like one looks like a jewel," the woman said. "Look at her power, and find the weak point."

Xardius cocked his head as Crissilia charged.

"There," he said, and struck.

"Is that so?" Novice said. "I doubt it..."

"Stop playing with your food," Enigma said, stepping next to Novice. "You're not dead just yet Novice."

The spell rippled into Novice. "I can't completely heal you, but this will keep you going. At least Kardas won't get the satisfaction of watching you die..."

Kardas narrowed his eyes. "Is that right, Enigma?"

"Listen," Enigma said, stepping right up to Kardas. "I'll kill you, understand?"

Kardas swallowed. "Uh, right..."

 

OOC: I have nothing for Novice to do, really. Ah, well. I can of something...

BIC: "Thank," Novice said, getting up. As he walked away, limping, Novice began to repair the Guardians crashed ship and prepared to head elsewhere with it.

OOC: EDIT: What's with the Darkrai avatar? Wasn't he that comic relief guy?

 

OOC: Blah... internet went crazy on me. And yeah, Darkrai was a total bafoon. And Dk, I got a Darkrai pic I'll send your way.

BIC: Vecked easily dodged, "I'm not doing this," he muttered, before throwing a grenade the creatures way...

 

OOC: Well, just because you're done with a character, doesn't mean he has to die, right?

BIC: Enigma disappeared, and Kardas relaxed. He had plenty of time to kill Novice. After all, it would take time for Novice to repair the Guardians' ship...which reminded him.

"Kind of forgot about us didn't you?" Tera Roth said, lying on the ground near the castle ruins.

Kardas blinked.

"Yeah, we just got out," Tera Roth said, standing up. "But that doesn't mean we're not ready to fight."

Highwind stood as well, and Tyre behind him.

"Wait a second," Kardas said, raising his hands.

"I'm a Heartless," Tera Roth said, baring his teeth. "I eat demons, you know that?"

Kardas glared at him. "I'm not here to fight you...."

"Right," Highwind said. "Then we'll just be over there."

EDIT OOC: Mine too, otherwise I'd have edited by now.

BIC: The golem got hit by the grenade, and shook it off, although a small part of the sand turned to glass... It tried to crush him again.

OOC: We're going to pretend that when flame hits sand it turns it to glass because...it does...kind of...

 

Smiling, Vecked indulged the whole creature in flame...

OOC: Dk, Pirate, I'm doing a little photo album of UO characters in the front, so if you got any pics of your characters or anything else, Pm them to me, alright?

 

OOC: OK, but I'm going to eat dinner now (which will take a minute), so I'll respond and send you the pics in a bit...

BIC: The golem's protective sand cover turned to glass and shattered, leaving the jewel that left it alive unprotected...
