The Ultimate Organization III

Nulix did what the other smart drivers did to get across the first obstacle. "Mine field time," Nulix grinned. This had been unaltered from the training course. Nulix began to boost up the side of the walls when he was suddenly hit by the red and black driver, who was followed by the Destiny Islands driver. The three drivers flew through the air, spinning while many other vehicles blew to pieces in the mine field.

The Destiny driver hit the ground first and began to swerve, then the red and black driver hit, whose ship was nothing but a burnt up rock at this point. Nulix hit the red drivers ship head on and was thrown back into the air. Nulix used his two second boosts to get steady once more and landed on the ground, everyone but Pharell and the Brotherhood Pilot behind him at this point.

Nulix smiled reluctantly, "That actually got me ahead..." he said, before looking at his vehicle damage level. "Oh come on!" Nulix yelled, before accelerating a bit...

 

Xardius swerved around all the mines in the mine field...bored...

OOC: Because I can't think of anything to happen to him...

 

Xane took advantage of his ship's durable armor and charged through the mine field, causing a distraction from any driver unfortunate enough to be behind him. Venture Jr. activated his thrusters and arrived next to Nulix. Sellers was close behind him. Xane managed to catch up to Sellers.

As the drivers made their way around the off-road track, the Brotherhood driver decided to play dirty. He shot several missiles at a nearby canyon wall, causing the boulders to tumble down ahead of schedule.

 

Xardius saw the rocks and went into next gear, rocketing forward in front of the leaders. Flipping his ship over, he activated the buzz saws underneath and sawed his way through the rock!

Impossible!

Of course, this caused the top to skim the bottom, causing it to slow and he ended up at the back of the pack again...

 

Nulix put all his vehicles weight to the side and rammed Venture Jr. into the wall. "Ahaha!" Nulix yelled, shifting his vehicles weight from front to back, hitting Venture Jr.'s ship in both areas. Venture Jr. replied with a boosted jump, causing Nulix to flip completely to the other side of the track. Nulix was gonna go in with another attack when the boulders began to fly towards them.

"Looks like we have a malfunction on the boulders," One announcer commented, "Hopefully our leaders can make it through in one piece."

 

OOC: I know, I know, I post too quickly...

 

Xane merely shot through any incoming boulders in his way. Several more appeared to roll after the leaders, but Sellers managed to get rid of 'em with his rapid fire canon.

"Don't you all worry," Sellers said. "I've been through these races several times. I won't let some damn cheaters ruin it for you first timers."


The next obstacle was ahead. It was a series of laser-like columns. They were similar to the columns on the Light Cycle races on the Light Space Paranoids. Touching them would often mean disaster.

OOC: Might have to go soon...

 

"LETS DO THIS!!" Nulix yelled, his finger on the jump trigger. "This type of thing is my specialty!" Nulix said, turning, jumping, and dodging them all...

 

"Hrmph," Xardius burped, feeling uncomfortable in his stomach.

OOC: Me too, Pirate.

 

OOC: I have to go... right now...

 

Wing smiled enjoying the race

"come on put into overdrive!" he said tightening his harness

Liam shook his head. "Ex-Guardian? No I am the current guardian. Unlike Tera Roth here, who's replacement was trained horribly by the way."

He smirked waiting for Tera's reaction, all the while still trying to gain a hold over the darkness that flowed through the former guardian of twilight's veins.

 

"Wouldn't want to blow away the competition," Xardius grinned, revving the engine and boosting forward directly in front of a Radiant Garden driver, who swerved, crashing with the three other gummis behind Xardius.

"That takes care of everyone behind us," Xardius said. "Just the big wigs now..."

Highwind sighed. "I meant it sarcastically...You really shouldn't be using darkness like that..."

Tera Roth nodded. "It might backfire. You see..."

Tera Roth's eyes began glowing. "Not only do I know what you're doing, but I also have the perfect counter to such an attack on my psyche. I may be a Heartless, but if you'd bothered to research me at all, you'd realize that my heart is not the only heart I have. Inside of me, I hold over a million. Think you can...persuade...them all?"

EDIT OOC: Oh, and I won't be on at our normal time today. I'll be anywhere from an hour to two hours late.

 

"Woo!" Nulix yelled, pushing another driver to the side. "Looks like we got a real race here!"

"No, no, no, no, no!" Lexx yelled, pushing half his equipment onto the ground. "Calm down," Skinnar said on the screen. "How the hell can I calm down!?" Lexx yelled. "I'm calm," Skinnar replied. "All I said was that I'll refuse the Grand Commander offer."

"You realize what that'll do?!" Lexx yelled, "Your brothers gonna die! We have no chain of command, you understand? Now if you not a total idiot your gonna go back back into Richards office and sign that contract!"

"Jesus, calm down." Skinnar replied, "I have a life, Lexx. I've made good money, I have a family, friends, I'm gonna have a child... I ain't gonna risk it all for the brother I never knew."

"How can you do this to us!?" Lexx yelled.

"It's a business man technique, Lexx," Skinnar explained. "Before the last few weeks I didn't even know I had a brother in our military. I would've known had he be building a name for himself. They found my brother and they ranked me up after I refused, in hopes that I would agree so that I could organize your military. They thought that I didn't want my brother to die so I would make a better military for them."

"You want him dead," Lexx asked. "You want Niles Skinnar dead?!"

Skinnar shook his head, "Of course not, Lexx... but I'd much rather have him dead then me... because me dead would mean no father for my child, no husband for my wife."

"You can go straight to hell, Skinnar..." Lexx muttered.

"You don't mean that..." Skinnar replied.

Lexx chuckled, "...Your right... I don't."

Skinnar smiled, "There is one thing I wanted to ask you about. We get a billion bucks to go to war from the Sora government, we only use a million or less on military, where is the rest of that money going, Lexx?'

Lexx sighed, "...Your my friend, right Rentu?"

"Of course," Skinnar replied.

Lexx looked down, "We don't think the Brotherhood is a threat-."

"What?!" Skinnar interrupted, "They blew half our good men to hell!"

"We... don't think Scourge ordered those attacks," Lexx explained, "We know... for a fact that the Brotherhood is not completely under Scourge's control. He has a money man semi running things for him, we believe he ordered the attacks."

"And you think Scourge won't respond to the fact that you have a weak army?!" Skinnar asked. Lexx shook his head, "That is a possibility, he might burn our bases in the Dark Worlds to the ground... but its unlikely. He would be hurting the people, which we think... is not his goal. Scourge has a goal, a destroyed world isn't part of it."

Skinnar paused, before glancing up at Lexx. "Has anyone thought of the obvious alternative?"

"And what would that be?" Lexx asked.

"Someone... in the U.P.A., made a deal with a Brotherhood member," Skinnar said, "Then they sent the Brotherhood member to blow the hell out of everyone and attack the Sora System so we could go to war... this person has political power and was able to control the budget knowing that Scourge didn't do those attacks, so there was no reason for a strong army and no fear of another attack. Then this person leaves the U.P.A. a billion dollars richer."

Lexx looked down as Skinnar finished talking, "One person... could never do that."

Skinnar paused, a hint of suspicion, "...No Lexx, your right... one person couldn't..."

Lexx glanced away from the screen, "I'll be... uh, seeing you, buddy."

"Yeah... I'll see you soon." Skinnar replied, before his face flicked off the screen...

"As our drivers go through the last lap of the race, there is still no clear victor," One announcer said, "Everyone still in the race is so close that anyone is still eligible to win the prize! We've got no predictions on this one, folks!"

 

Xane narrowly made it past the laser columns. His vehicle was slightly singed on one side. Despite this he had reached the top three. Nulix and Pharell were in the lead. Behind him was Venture Jr, the Brotherhood driver, and Sellers.

 

"Hoha!" Nulix yelled, boosting towards Pharell. "You goin' down!" Nulix yelled, trying to hit the back of Pharell's ship...

 

Pharell casually looked back at the drivers behind him, then directed his ship's mini-gummi toward the other drivers. The mini-gummi pelted the other racers with with machine gun fire as the next obstacle approached. It was the harsh gust of wind. The drivers knew how to get past it. It was arguably the easiest obstacle from the training exercise. The mini-gummi's bullets were becoming a problem, however. Venture Jr directed mini-gummi of his own to fly directly into the machine gun fire. The resulting explosion destroyed each mini-gummi, though it proved to be distracting enough for Venture to take advantage and get the lead.

There would be no more obstacles for a while...At least not until the U.P.A reveal their "surprise obstacle". For now the racers would have to rely on their own skill and cunning to get the lead.

OOC: I'll leave the surprise obstacle to you, Nulix...

 

Nulix was racing all crazy...

OOC: I'm too tired to think of an obstacle right now...

 

OOC: The obstacle isn't appearing yet. It'll take a while. It doesn't have to be a meaningless obstacle. I was hoping you'd make it important to the plot.

BIC: The Brotherhood driver slammed his vehicle into Nulix's. Sellers started to try and gain a lead while the other drivers were distracted. Xane was also starting to gain a spot in second place.

 

Nulix jumped to the side, over the Brotherhood driver, causing him to hit and grind the wall. Nullix tried to remain in front, but the damage to his vehicle was really slowing him down. "God damn it, work!" Nulix yelled, trying to drive around the bends, Xane and Sellers both passing him...

 

Venture managed to drift left and right to keep anyone from passing him. The Brotherhood member decided to make use of his artillery. He fired various cannons, standard, blasters, and even directed his mini-gummi to the driver in front and ahead of him. Many drivers were unfortunate enough to get hit by the weapons. Others were dead the moment the blasts hit their cars. Sellers managed to get out of his car to avoid damage. He tumbled safely down to the canyon below. He was effectively out of the race...
